Disc burning software with multisession+verify+move files/folders

I know a few burning DVD programs but none of them meets all my criteria. I want it to burn data in multisession (so I can add data later) and then verify. But the missing feature for me is being able to move files and folders on the disc when burning a new session. For example, I have burned a disc with a few files and folder and some time later I want to add some new files to the disc but also rearrange the files and folders I burned before - of course, I don't want the rearranged files to be written again to the disc but only the folder structure changed (ToC) so that they appear in their new locations in the newest session.

Such a feature existed in Nero - I could drag&drop files and folders within a disc that were burned in previous sessions. But I don't want the bloated Nero and I also don't want to pay for a burning software (or pay little). This is not a critical feature for me but only a nice convenience.

So far I've been using:

- Ashampoo Burning Studio - excellent & stable, but it won't allow me to move existing files, I can only delete or rename them
- CDBurnerXP - not so stable in my experience and also no way to move existing files
- Windows 7 built-in live file system burning - excellent for moving existing files around but alas no verify option

Any recommendations?

It sounds like you need RW discs, but be aware RW media is the least reliable.

Also, if you want the functions and none of the freeware applications do what you want, you will have to pay for it. I have a recording studio and primarily burn audio CD's, I have (bought) Nero as it does what I want, compared to the others. The only other program that will burn audio CD's with the features I want is a higher priced Sony Architect product.

No, I want to use write-once DVD discs. I need standard multi-session support with the ability to reorganize folder structure with each new session.

Also, if you want the functions and none of the freeware applications do what you want, you will have to pay for it. That's why I'm asking here as I may not know all available applications, I'll also be glad to hear about paid software - but the price for Nero is too much just for this minor feature, if I had to pay so much I might as well reorganize files on my HD and burn a new disc if necessary. Many years ago I had a pretty simple and functional program for burning which came bundled with DVD Movie Factory 4 Suite as part of my burner software. But this was before Corel took it over and now I can't seem to find this program on their web site any more.

As cheap as discs are now, it may just be better to burn a new one than to buy software. For the $50 or so that the paid software costs you can buy a lot of discs.

I've always considered the 25 cents or whatever was not an issue if it was something I wanted burned to disc.

Yes, it is definitely more cost effective to buy new discs than software. However, I'm looking here more for convenience than money savings. When I have a disc with a lot of data and I just want to move a few files to a new folder I'd rather just move them in a specialized software and be done with it in less than a minute than copy all the disc content to my HD and then back again to a new disc. Also, I disagree with those who are against burning multisession (like the author of ImgBurn, for instance) saying discs are cheap - they may be cheap but this doesn't mean I should or I want to create unnecessary litter and throw discs away while the old ones could be used just fine.

Anyway, I've been looking hard and the feature of moving files seems to be pretty exotic but I've found one little program that does it: Astroburn. The lite version is free, has verify option and allows me to move files and folders - I've never seen a burning program with so few options but it seems to do its work quite well. The pro version has some nice additions like choosing file system type and the price 9.90 euro seems very right.
