an update.. im sitting here with my flat head screw driver literrally DIGGING at chunks of what i thought were dust on the heatsink...

The compressed air couldn't take it out.. it's so damn hard.. its like.. frozen dust.. HAHHA

i hear that, yo! i recommend sitting a table with one of them table protectors and work over a white pillowcase. magnets are handy little tools too

i personally wouldn't touch any components with a magnetic anything :shock: but that isn't to say the area in which u worked cannot be scoured with a magnet afterward.

i use a mag'd screw driver... have so for every disassemble. just dont touch anything that says "bios" on it....

being that the heatsink is a chunk of aluminum, you can boil it in a pot to get everything off it. old thermal grease, dust clots. i've only had to that one time, its more of an emergency type solution. it worked well. you just have let it dry for a very long time. (do not microwave)
