I have a HAF X and I can assure you it is not flimsy at all. It weighs 31 Lbs empty. None of the cases in the HAF line, that I know of are flimsy. I really don't know much about the Xigmatek cases. But the 912 is a very good case and the HAF 932 and HAF X are great cases. I would also consider the airflow and what fans are in the case. Most of the HAF cases are built for airflow. That's what HAF means, High Air Flow. Again, I know some about the HAF cases but very little about Xigmatek. I would suggest you read the user feedback from some places that sell them. I would suggest newegg just for research, but they are not carrying the Xigmatek you mentioned, only a referbished one with no feedback.
well i have bought both lol. Getting them in an hour,i will keep the one i want and give the other to a friend. And i couldnt find any feedback on this particular xigmatek case either even though its quite popular here but i really like the look of those kewl fans :geek:

Hi guys, needed some advice,im buying a case, either Xigmatek Utgard or Hafx 912 Advanced, but cant choose between the two. Do not know much about cases,so dont know where to look. Both have same amount of cable management holes and whatnot.
Im leaning towards utgard since it feels more classy and has fan control, hafx looks flimsy to me but again im speaking just from looking at pictures from the internet. Any suggestions?

I too have an HAF X, and let me tell you, you could beat on it all day and not do it any harm.

It is a pretty solid piece of engineering.

Nearly breaks my back if I have to cart it anywhere.

The 912 is a smaller and lighter case than the X.

Also, the X was CM's flagship full tower case before the gargantuan Cosmos II came along.

The reason i bought it :D

And got them both, honestly cant make up my mind now. Even more confused :(

Keep both and use them on a rotation, after one gets dusty strip it out and swap your stuff to the other one

Naw, that's too much work. Just use the second case to build a spare rig.

It would be a good scheduled maintenance thing to do. I think Paul has 6-7 identical cases, and does a swap for every pic, that is why they always look perfect ;)

ok guys, after HOURS of hard work,i have decided on the Xigmatek Utgard.
Now i should mention first that Hafx is an epic case, its great on its own but when compared with utgard, its nothing special.
Utgard comes with a lot of options just like Hafx but the little things like the fans and the 2 fan controllers and the complete toll-less design along with the removable dust filter at the bottom make it the winner. Although Hafx has better cable management options as it has many of those small hooks (?-probably not what they are called) to which you tie the cables and they are in different places unlike utgards which are sort of in a straight line. BUT utgard has about 1.5 inches of space behind the board which comes really handy.
Another thing i noticed was that Hafx cable management holes are in more...well,needed places. Not randomly placed and it really hides the cables. But then again, the feel utgard gives off is awesome :D
Looks great and is quite heavy with everything installed as compared with hafx,my back hurts lol.
And before you say anything,i know the cable management is horrible. The 24 pin and 4 pin connectors fell short, this case is huge. Thinking of ordering some custom wires which will cost me 40$ extra :(

ppv4.jpg

Stripped them down to bare cages for comparison. Right is Utgard and left Haf x.
1xgo.jpg

d45q.jpg

vy2b.jpg

I do not know if its the camera or what but the case looks 10 times better in real life, maybe i just suck at taking pictures -_-
Got a lot of dust here & there while trying to install the things, otherwise it looks great.
