Being one of those badges which does not come automatically after certain rep and post count, Supporter badge is in its way a very honored and acknowledged badge here. Only way to get it is to be active and supportive, as the badge is only granted by admins and mods to those they deem worth of it.

Before anyone says something about the above being to praise and boost myself, my own Supporter badge, I have to tell you geeks a secret: Back in 2009 it still was possible to donate money to Seven Forums. For your donation you got the Supporter badge. As some other senior members here, I got my supporter badge by donating a very small amount of money quite in the beginning of my membership, sometime mid 2009.

John discarded donation system a bit later, I think it was 2010, and Supporter badge became an honorary badge, used as a recognition and given to those who admins & mods deem worth of it.
