Hi all Got a problem also had same problem why running vista x64
i was told to try windows7 so ive installed it and still getting the same type of problem.

The BSOD happens from a cold start when it reboots it seems ok ive been told coz it loads safe drivers not sure if thats right
anyway start win all ok if i dont touch nothink when i start playing around with stuff like loading flash games via the net BSOD happens the last time was a screensaver kicking in, was ok till i stoped it then got the BSOD

ive loaded what seems to be the latest drivers for the board
upgraded to the newest bios as well i am thinking it might be a memory config or graphics config been looking around many places but not getting anywhere

hoping its not memory coz i cant find no where in the bios to change any settings

if theres anyone out there that can help i would be greatfull

Which Windows 7 x64 drivers did you install for your board? Did you get them from Asus, or did you get them from nVidia? Please list them in your next post. Do you have any other hardware (PCIe cards, DVD drive, etc), or do you only have onboard video, audio, and the memory? Are you running in any RAID mode? If so, which one?

If I had BSODs, and updating the drivers didn't help, I would suspect a piece of hardware is causing the problem. Here are some things I would try:

1. Get yourself a 4GB USB 2.0 flash drive, make it bootable, copy the Win 7 x64 files over, remove the DVD drive and install from the flash drive. See if you still get the BSOD.
2. Swap out the RAM, or at a minimum drop down to 4GB and see if that helps.

All Driver's i used come from asus.not installed the expressgate as its not compatable with win7 and i disabled that in bios

Can't seem to download the minidump files.
Since you had this issue with Vista, and now have it with Win7 - it's probably safe to say that it's either a hardware error or a compatibility issue.

My concern here (without the minidump file) is that the Asus software may not be completely updated. In particular the Asus AISuite has a driver (ASACPI.sys) that is known to cause BSOD's - so updating the Asus AISuite (if installed) is necessary. You can find it under Utilities on the Asus download website.

i try the memory test tonight see what happens

The good news is that your Asus stuff (to include the ASACPI.sys file) is updated to 2008.

The bad news is that this looks to be a problem with your NETGEAR WG111v2 54Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter. But this is not certain as the error actually occurred in npfs.sys (the Named Pipes File System driver). But it was executing in the wg111v2.exe process - and your wg111v2.sys drivers are from 2007.

Download them and save them to your Desktop
Uninstall the drivers that you currently have installed (Start > Programs > NETGEAR WG111v2 Adapter > Uninstall NETGEAR WG111v2 Smart Wizard).
Install the fresh drivers in Compatibility Mode for ALL USERS. Select "Run as Windows Vista" and "Run as administrator" and install them.
Test for further BSOD issues.

There is a way to set the memory up properly on that board. I would seriously look into that first, memory timings and voltages matter even more when running 8GB. You haven't listed the type of memory you are running so I can't look up the specs for your Ram.

Your bios shows plenty of ways to set the memory timings and voltages. You can even overclock your board. The memory timings and voltage settings are very useful on this type of board.

Your bios shows plenty of ways to set the memory timings and voltages. You can even overclock your board. The memory timings and voltage settings are very useful on this type of board.

only stats i have for memory as it was brought as a bundle are from the website's shop the memory its self is heat shuilded i cant read nothink but heres what on the web

The good news is that your Asus stuff (to include the ASACPI.sys file) is updated to 2008.

The bad news is that this looks to be a problem with your NETGEAR WG111v2 54Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter. But this is not certain as the error actually occurred in npfs.sys (the Named Pipes File System driver). But it was executing in the wg111v2.exe process - and your wg111v2.sys drivers are from 2007.

So...

Download them and save them to your Desktop
Uninstall the drivers that you currently have installed (Start > Programs > NETGEAR WG111v2 Adapter > Uninstall NETGEAR WG111v2 Smart Wizard).
Install the fresh drivers in Compatibility Mode for ALL USERS. Select "Run as Windows Vista" and "Run as administrator" and install them.
Test for further BSOD issues.

Thankyou so much spot on , ive had no BSOD for 48 hours infact this is the longest the computers been on for
