I have a netgear NAS and a Dell W7 desktop on my network which is wired as well as wireless. Up till recently could move files between the machines (password logon required to connect) and also backup to the NAS. My laptop will now not connect to the desktop although these are "seen" in the network listing and can ping each other. The NAS has disappeared completely from the network list although it still appears as a media device, can be pinged and can stream to the media player on the laptop. Using windows firewall, panda A/v, spybot S&D resident. AFAIK nothing has changed - I even rolled back to the last system restore before the latest batch of windows updates. Have tried disabling the firewall but same issue. All the devices have fixed ip addresses

Suggestions?

Thanks

The Panda A/V or Spybot are the most likely suspects.

Thanks for the reply. Disabled both and rebooted - no change
