Solved Making a static Ip only for one wireless network and the others auto

Hey guys
This is my first post here , in the forum so i want to appologize if there are mistakes in the title or my grammar .. i will try to fix it as soon as possible

So i wanted to ask is there any way to make a laptop that is with windows 7 be able to take a static ip adress only for one specific network that is in the office and if the same laptop try to connect to other network to be able to get an adress automatically .

I hope that i wrote it clearly and you will be able to understand my question if not please tell me what should i discribe more.

Do you connect via wireless or Wired?

Also do you connect to the networks via different interfaces? For example you connect to the office using a wired connection but you use a wireless connection for everything else?

The user wants to connects only from the wireless interface.
The problem is that when i make it work for the office with the static ip i don't know how if its possible to make it connect with different settings for any other wireless networks.

Does your work have DHCP installed?

You may want to look into using the Alternate Configuration in order to pick a static IP address if your machine cannot get one automatically.

Please note that this tutorial works for Windows 7 as well:

IP Address - Enable Alternate Configuration

If your work has DHCP then your machine will take that over the alternate configured static IP address

Well that was in the Windows 8 forum.

Normally happens, like you'll end up with a ton of people with 'Invalid IP Configuration' errors.. Weird :huh:

I wanted to ask do you know any other way so we can do this if there is no working DHCP protocol :sarc:

You need there to not be a DHCP server at the office so that the machine can use the static one configured.

If there is then your machine will pick up an IP address automatically. However unless your device is a key device I would think that you need a static IP address because there isn't a DHCP server therefore this should work.
