Aero causes lag when 2 or more monitors are enabled.

Extending my desktop to a secondary and third monitor causes lag all throughout the system. FireFox scrolls slowly, window animations are choppy and the computer just feels slow. When Aero is disabled (or Enable Transparency is unchecked), all of the lag goes away. Is there any way to enable Aero with multiple monitors and not have lag? I did some googling and found some results that suggested that the lag was caused by WDDM and DX11 but I couldn't find any solutions. Any suggestions on what to do?

Hi Iamazn. first I will like to request you, please post your complete system specs.

Next, Please check the refresh rates for both the monitors. E.g. if 1 monitor is running on 60Hz and the other one on 59.9Hz. This can also cause some lag. Please post your dxdiag output.

P.S I am sure resolution for both monitors is kept same and drivers for GPU and monitors are up to date?

3770k, GTX 680, Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit, 16gb RAM

All three monitors are the same model, run the same resolution (1920x1080) and have the same refresh rate, 60HZ. I'm also running the latest nonbeta GeForce driver.

Try to roll back to an old driver and see if the problem persists.

I was on a driver from a few months back before updating to latest nonbeta. When I first encountered the lag, I updated to the latest beta. When the lag was still there in the latest, beta, I rolled back to the latest nonbeta.
