Just got into Saint's Row IV. Finally caved in and got it.

It's Crackdown. I mean that in a good way, but it's Crackdown with more stuff to do. There are some seriously funny moments in the game, but I've yet to encounter an original while playing it, and that seems oddly intentional. Fortunately it's too much fun for that to matter.

Saint's Row has be come the 'Scary Movie'/'Not Another [something] Movie' of video games. I mean before they started to be awful. Stupid fun.

Also got Castlevania Lords of Shadows Ultimate for PC. Very pretty, nothing graphically amazing, but the art direction is top notch. It's well acted and has a great cast, gameplay is tight and similar to God of War or Devil May Cry type controls. Looks better than the console version with improved lighting, better shaders, higher rez textures, better colors, and runs at full 1080p @ 60fps. It borrows a lot from other games, but it's very well put together and epic in every way.

Between the two I should be busy well into next month.

Saints Row has just completely strayed away from it's original idea, most likely because the developers know that can't compete with the Grand Theft Auto series.

Still hooked on BF3 multiplayer. I really need to get of fit though as I've another 70 orso games waiting to be played.

Tried bf3 morning, game runs fine and played the sp a bit. Haven't tried the mp yet since most severs with decent pings had very little players and most that had a lot of players where like 200ping plus, might check later to see if the us severs fill up at all later

It may be worth getting the Premium DLC for BF3 mate for multiplayer, the base game may be a little restrictive with how few maps it has. The Premium should be available pretty cheap now with BF4 so close.

Pretty much this. The Premium DLC is an amazing addition to the base game.

Not only is there a ton of new game modes, but the challenges it adds to get new weapos gives a reason to do certain things

I'm playing Minecraft, a sandbox indie game.

Got Castle of Illusion.

Some may remember this from the Sega Genesis. It was one of the best platformers available on the system and is one of the reasons Disney built a reputation of quality side scrolling platformers such as Ducktales, Magical Quest, and Aladdin. This was a stand out title and hasn't lost a thing in the transition. If anything, it's actually been improved. There is a narrator that provides the story Bastion style as you play and the voices are provided by their current Disney VO actors.

The remake that is available on PSN, XBLA Arcade, and PC [I've got the PC version] is better than the recent Ducktales remastered, and that's saying something. It retains it's charm and quality but updates the graphics and sound to modern levels of quality. I had more fun with this than I did with the recent Rayman and Ducktales. It's a top notch platformer that should not be missed.

It retains the classic side scrolling gameplay of the original and updates it with short 3D segments similar to Mario 64. For example, the hub world is a 3d castle where you unlock doors after collecting a set number gems. It works well and is seamlessly integrated into the game. Another sequence where Mickey has to run from a giant apple that begins chasing him Raiders of the Lost Ark style, has had the perspective changed so it is now a segment where the mouse runs towards the screen.

It shows off how great a platformer can be, the bulk of the gameplay is pure side scrolling goodness. The 3d segments aren't overly long and enhance gameplay rather than seeming tacked on. They tie together the levels much better than the old cartridge version did.

This is one of those timeless titles that anyone will enjoy playing. It's good enough to keep the interest of a younger crowd and won't turn off those who are old enough to have played the original. It's very nostalgic, but modernized for today's audiences.

This is a top notch high quality game that should not be missed by anyone. Seriously, check this out. Especially if you're familiar with the original. It's a great remake, one of the best I've played yet and worth every bit of the price for admission.

I didn't upgrade my weapons/powers wisely and I think I got bored of dying over and over. On the other hand, dropping the difficulty level for sections feels like cheating

Plus Elizabeth taking all my money after resurrections and not being able to afford further upgrades really really shits me. Plus after she's just taken hundreds off you, she then has the cheek to give you a few dollars back. She doesn't need the bloody money. It's an irritating logic flaw. Stop stealing my money woman!

I would have prefered to be brought back in a chamber all the way through.

yeah it is kind of redundant when it comes to dying and I haven't tried to change difficulty I just die and come back

Not like the others where the enemy is almost dead you come back and kill them with less damage this one fills them back up and you have to start over

The Batman game sounds good I have Arkham Asylum but never finished it off the chain visuals though

If you liked Arkham Asylum you should get Arkham City, it's a far superior game.

Castlevania is pretty cool. It's got a combat system similar to God of War or DMC mixed with platforming elements rather like Uncharted. Not a perfect game, but it's pretty to look at, downright amazing in some places, and entertaining. It has an upgrade system for combo moves like most games of this type. Weapons are upgraded by way of progress through the game.

It's also fairly difficult, so if you're playing on normal or hard expect a bit of challenge. Easy isn't too bad, but is still harder than a lot of other beat em up type games. It's not as bad as DMC 3 or Bayonetta. I'd put it at about the same difficulty as DMC 4. Trying to button mash your way through it will only get you killed a lot. I like hard, but it's hard enough it might put casual players off a bit.

It's got an amazing VO cast, and I'm not just talking about Patrick Stewart. Very well acted.

It does take some time before the game really picks up though. The first third or so of the game just has you running around outside beating on werewolves. It's not bad or anything, but makes the game seem more generic than it really is. Once you get past that section it gets really good.

My biggest gripe is with the save points. They tend to be before platforming segments. So, if you die in a particularly difficult combat sequence you often have to climb back up to where the battle was over and over until you win. Bigger enemies take a lot of punishment. While the gameplay is very much like GoW, the enemies take much more punishment before going down than the mobs in those games do.

It's totally worth 29.99 for the game plus the console DLC.

Agreed about Batman. Arkham Asylum was excellent, Arkham City is Epic. It's a much bigger game and just as good as AA. If you're into AA, you should totally pick up Arkham City, it won't disappoint.
