I'm not quite sure what you meant by this.. What will be patched soon? Which Fixit solution? It's a Hotfix, not a FixIt.

FIX: Locked taskbar moves to the top of the screen in Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

Symptoms:

Consider the following scenario:

• You have the taskbar locked on a computer that is running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
• You right-click an icon in the taskbar to display a jump list.
• With the jump list still active, you left-click anywhere on the taskbar and then try to drag the taskbar.

In this scenario, the taskbar moves to the top of the screen.


Notes

• After this occurs, you can move the taskbar back. To do this, unlock it, and then drag it back to its original position.
• This problem occurs even if you deploy a Group Policy setting to lock the taskbar. However, when a Group Policy setting is deployed, you cannot drag the taskbar back to its original position.

Cause:

This problem occurs because the function to move the taskbar is triggered incorrectly.

• Windows 7 Service Pack 1
• Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1

Is there a KB number for the update you got for this today?
I updated one of my x64 systems to see how things are going this month, and would like to see if I got this delivered/installed via Windows Update.

So, what I'm not sure of is, do I need to run "Windows Cleanup" as a followup to this update being installed?

I think it is up-to-you, as now there's a new tab in "other options" disk clean up.

They're just pointing to the method..not telling you have to!

I wouldn't do it right now, mine shows 494Mb to clean.

I had no problems with the cleanup.

One thing you need to be aware of is that this 'patch' almost certainly removes one layer of recovery capability that is currently available (while it also reduces the complexity level of the overall OS).

My inclination is NOT to utilise the capability unless you have good backups, AND need the space (probably because you are using an SSD).

Therefore, after you run the Disk Cleanup wizard, you may be unable to roll back to a superseded update. If you want to roll back to a superseded update that the Disk Cleanup wizard deletes, you can manually install the update.

Therefore, after you run the Disk Cleanup wizard, you may be unable to roll back to a superseded update. If you want to roll back to a superseded update that the Disk Cleanup wizard deletes, you can manually install the update.

i do wish good luck for the one that used disk cleanup and want to find the superseded kb he needs to roll back....

I'm for waiting the next patch day to eventually disk cleanup!
