At the rate things are going, this thread is gonna turn into a Sabertooth owners club lol.

Don`t get me wrong, my MSI board has been working fine since day 1, I just thought the Saber would OC the cpu better, and that`s been proven here.

I like the Sabertooth board and it does everything I need it to. It's suppose to be tougher'n woodpecker lips too.

That's pretty darn tough ever hear a wood pecker in the morning you know His head and beak has to be Iron you can hear him pecking that pole 3 blocks away !

Honestly if you look at it there are certain tiers to MB that get the job done and qualities that go along with it

Maximus Boards are the top dogs if I am not mistaken and then there are boards like the Saber and other boards like the Asus Deluxe

All of them have features it's just the prices make them more unattractive to the average buyer

OK, this is OT, but ya'll have reminded me of something...long ago, I lived right across the street from the high school football field.

One day, I was outside and heard a rather loud metallic tapping that was approximately the length and cadence of a telephone ring signal (on old phone systems, you would hear relay chatter instead of a synthetic "ringing signal" when placing a call).

I looked and moved around trying to localize the source of the sound, and then finally spotted it. A woodpecker was perched on the reflector of one of the stadium lights just pecking away.

Too bad I didn't have a video camera back then, it would have been a good YouTube video.

welp, I hit the max OC on my board. I tried for 5.3 and no matter what voltage I put into it, it would not get passed the "starting windows" screen. just kept locking up. however I did get passed all the bios warnings.

What badge? By the way, my RAM is kind of weird. It says (on a sticker stuck to it) 9-9-9-24. Shouldn't it be at 27?

Anyhow, downclocked it to 1333 CL8. Anybody got any tips?

manually set your timings in bios and make sure RAM is set to the rite frequency.

Yep...that's why i am still at the bottom of the list for my i5 K....those high-end boards with that manies phases, stomp all over me!!!

Might soon give a shot validating.

I did set it in the BIOS. I was thinking my processor can't work with DDR3-1600, I manually set it to 1333, then lowered the timings. I hear it sort of works that way. Is that correct?

Not too sure with what I'm doing though. Lol. My temps are already ranging from 30C to 50C (after 6 hours of gaming). Are these still acceptable?
