The Official Seven Forums Overclock Leaderboards

After some discussions between several members, I have created a new leaderboards thread. Obviously there is still the http://www.sevenforums.com/pc-custom-builds-overclocking/251850-post-your-overclock-2-a-73.htmlhttp://www.sevenforums.com/overclocking-case-mods/251850-post-your-overclock-2-a-73.html thread, but I thought it would be nice to have a thread with clear leaderboards for a bit of friendly competition :geek:

The Leaderboards are split into 3 categories - Overall, Intel and AMD. Originally this was going to be a 5ghz + club, but I think that is a little unfair and would rule out too many people. So any Overclock will do.

The rules are very basic. You need to download and install CPUz from here - CPU-Z CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

And then validate your overclock using the Validate button at the bottom of the CPUz window (See pic)

On the validation window by default it will have your name as your PC name, if this is close to your username on here then that is fine, if not then please change it. You also need to enter your email address and click submit.

You can then use the Windows Snipping tool to grab a shot of your overclock and also include a link to the page (see mine below)

CPU-Z Validator 3.1

A big thanks to John for helping me to make the leaderboards look nicer and much easier to update.

And finally a word of caution to any unseasoned overclockers,
As with most things overclocking carries some risk, be sure to do your research before attempting any overclocking and carefully monitor your temperatures.

***Note: You can use whatever method of Overclocking you prefer whether it's in the bios or in Windows with software such as Asus AI Suite. As long as you can Validate your speed you are in.***

With that said, good luck and lets go fry some Chips :D

Ok so here are the instructions on how to add the Overclockers badge below your main sig if you wish to use it.

Head over to "Edit Signature" in your User CP and simply copy and paste everything below into it.

If you get any issues or get stuck let me know.

Paul.

So just to summarize what you need to put in your post, use this one as an example.

Here is my go at it. Voltage is getting pretty high for my tastes, and I may or may not go for 5GHz later on today.

Thanks Ryan, some really strong overclocks from everyone so far.

Hopefully a few more people will post their speeds soon, it doesn't matter if they are not massive OC's, there are 20 positions in the charts;)

After a few hours of trying, I just don't think my CPU can do 5GHz. I'll post this up though.

I have a feeling this could be a bit bad, I just got a 5.2ghz, but I used Asus TurboV Evo software instead of the bios to set my speed and voltage within Windows and then validated it, it crashed within seconds of hitting the validate button but after rebooting I had an email showing my validation.
I don't know how everyone feels about this, is it cheating? Is it not? I am not fussed about the speed being posted in the leaderboards either way as it seems a little too easy to me.

Paul.
