BSODs and freezes at random

My system has been playing up for a while now. I changed most of my hardware, except for one storage drive and GFX card, less than a year ago due to similar problems. Though I knew that the motherboard then was
becoming defective. Of course, when it was rebuilt I installed all the newest drivers only.
However, the problems have started again recently.
I have run CHKDSK, Memory diagnostics. Updated BIOS and most drivers.

The freezes (often with loud noise from the speakers) happen at random; sometimes the system will run for a couple of days, sometimes it will Crash/freeze/BSOD several times in a given day.
Also happens when just listening to music, browsing the web or watching a series/film.

A single dump is not enough to establish a pattern so if you have more please upload the rest.
Please manually check the minidump folder.

C:\Windows\minidump

If dump files are present in that folder copy them to the Desktop, zip and upload in your next post.

The dump that was uploaded does reflect your description of the problem
with regards of using the GPU and Ethernet.

:ar: Please follow this detailed quote and roll-back to a known stable version:

Install the 314.22 WHQL only.

• Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features
  • 3D Vision Control Driver
  • 3D Vision Driver
  • Graphics Driver
  • HD Audio Driver
  • PhysX
  • nvidia Update
  (Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
• Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
• Boot normally now. Download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

• Download HWinfo and post a Screenshot of the sensors window, one at idle and another while putting load on the PC using Prime95 for the CPU side and Furmark for the GPU.
  • Before running Prime95 make sure to enable Round-off checking (see 1st post under the tutorial).

I managed to uninstall the Nvidia drivers and software and (clean)install the recommended one.
Intially I couldn't access 'Safe Mode' for a while, got stuck at the driver: aswRvrt.sys. After a restart or two Windows ran a CHKDSK and repaired a heck of a lot of files (recovering orphaned files) which it hadn't done before and 'Safe Mode' worked again.

Installed the RealTek network adapter driver.

Installed Microsoft Security Essentials (and uninstalled/deleted Trusteer)

Ran a comprehensive system and registry cleanup with CCleaner.

Also ran the Benchmark tests you asked.
Unfortunately, the system shut down before I could grab screenshots under Full Load.
I have the Idle info, as you can see.
Under load the CPU hit around 60-65 C I believe.
The GPU on the other hand was hitting 109 on the core and at that point throttled to 50% and
shortly thereafter shut down the system.
The system had been under full load for 10-15 minutes.
I guess my GFX card is not doing to well.
Will try and take it out and give it a thorough cleaning. On the other hand, this is the first time I have
ever heard the fans on the GFX fire up, under normal use this never happens and I don't game anymore.

I haven't had an unexpected shutdown/BSOD like before yet, however it could occur in the next 24 hours or so.
By the way, I can't find any more .dmp files than the one I uploaded. Any idea why they are not there?

The PSU is an 'old' HKC Modular model from 2009 (GFX might be from the same time too).
I think it is a 630W model

Thanks for the update , a few things:

got stuck at the driver: aswRvrt.sys

This is an Avast driver please remove it using these steps.

• avast! Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for avast! Removal

Yes that is not very healthy, keep me updated on how it goes.

As a matter of fact I do. CCleaner removes them when cleaning the system, please refrain from using
the software for the entire time we are troubleshooting as we need them .

This may very well be due to thermals of the GPU.

It's a bit dated now, but I don't want to kill it off prematurely, unfortunately the one thing missing
from the HWinfo screenshots is the Voltage readings, please upload those .

I know I haven't posted back in a long time

I have finally got some more BSOD Minidmps to upload.

The crashes are definitely less frequent.
GPU seems to lay generally in the 50-70 C region.

With regards to Voltage readings:
I might be misunderstanding something but the HWInfo screenshots I uploaded seem to contain
the voltage readings too is there something I am missing?


Hope the dmp files are of any help, there should be the original from first posts plus two more.

Have you had any bugchecks (BSOD's) while using MSE?
I see you're now using Avast again.

I know it has been a while.

I am still having trouble with random freezes. No BSOD and thus no minidump files.

I have changed my graphics card. Now using a Palit GT640 1GB. Nvidia driver 9.18.13.3165, 23rd Oct 2013.

I only use MS Security Essentials.

Hope you can help and let me know if you need more info.

Hi

I have unfortunately still had no replies and/or help for a while now.

I hope someone will assist me.

The post from the 20th contains full SF Diagnostics and screenshots.
I just had another BSOD, a PFN_LIST_CORRUPT.
I will upload here all my minidump files, including this latest one.
