...Yeah I know about the elevated UAC prompt but the easiest way is just to remove it from the startup menu should I choose to reinstall it.

And I'm not disabling UAC. Even though it's annoying at times I like it as it keeps me aware of what going on with my system...

Yeah I found out about that while looking up about it but it didn't turn me off since I love how it looks anyways and for future reference how do I turn of ES mode?

Press the FUNC button on the monitor, press it again to go right in the menu and you should be able to work it out from there

I remember seeing it, Drew. I didn't answer because I don't know the answer. Mine has done that occasionally, but run it again and it works fine. I don't know why it does it.

Well I've attempted to run it a few times, even after a re-boot and it still errors out. I'm thinking it's a Windows 8.1 thing but I've seen the issue reported on Win 7 machines as well.

Oh well, I just has to pass it by till the next release.

I saw it too and had no answer Drew. I have seen it mentioned in a thread here somewhere though and like Steve's experience, and yours, it fixed itself.

Maybe swapping SATA ports and back kicked its AS SSD.

Just to be clear, my AS SSD issue is not solved. It simply errors out when trying to bench the first drive (port 0) but will bench the other drives in my system just fine.

However there are no issues with port o as other SSD benches work just fine....

Oopsie! However, I haven't had trouble with AS SSD, either. I haven't tried RAPID on my 840 Pro yet, just my new EVO.

i've rebuilt my computer for about the 4th time now and i think i've got it just about right. i used a ton of zip-ties this time on the back for cable management and it really helped. i can't wait till the aftermarket 290Xs come out!!!

I always recommend the Noctua's and I run 100% on all three of my rigs. One of my rigs is an amazing 8120 rig that overclocks like a beast !

Yeah silverstormz I think it looks very tidy and no dust even. One thing I would change is make the top 140mm fan an intake for positive case pressure and putting cool outside air on the cooler.

Am a great believer in positive pressure in the case and I think the idea of more air onto that cooler is a really good one and the cables well they are to be expected eh?

As for the RAM clearance it seems to me that the board makers don't really think about other stuff too much and it is a problem with air coolers in building now.

Just wondering how did you get the speakers to stay on top of the monitor as my centres are tucked away behind it??

the speaker has a folding base at the back of it that acts to prop it up. there is also a lip on the front edge that rests against the monitor.
