The "roll bar" is the least concern. Look at the reviews. A noisy or failed fan is a common complaint.

Nah, I prefer the EVGA over the XFX. In addition to performance, I also like styling, and that XFX doesn't have it.

Also, as I said, it doesn't have to be fully modular.

Does it have to be that brand Corsair makes Semi Modular HX1050 80+ silver it works real nice i replaced it with my AX850

You can always find people complaining about this or that. I think you have to trust EVGA and a 10 year warranty then reviewers with some grain of salt.....

A little price difference there too. I guess I've just never been concerned about the warranty when I buy EVGA. They're top notch.

Damn that's a nice power supply! Too bad I've already spent enough money on NXZT cables or I might be tempted to get this for my main rig.

Very tempting though, but I don't need this for a backup rig. On the other hand it might be nice to have in case something (very unlikely) happens to my Antec.

No, it doesn't have to be that brand. That was just one of the first brought up.

And yeah I did read about the fan noise, even in reviews, which is of a concern, especially since my Antec is still whisper quiet after 4 years.

You know I never even knew about EVGA power supplies. Never knew they made any. I now see they not only make some, but get good reviews one them. Nice.

Yes they did, Tommy. But there is a long story behind that. And it took a long time and a lot of talking, cussing and discussing before they agreed to do it. They really resisted.

I'm a huge Antec fan; in fact I've never used any other power supply but Antec... but for that price, I have to say the EVGA's look like a better deal. However I've never had any problems with any Antec power supply since getting into PC's in 98.

Tough call here but.... I might have to pass on Antec here solely based on price and contents compared to the EVGA shown here for 119 - EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750G GOLD

On the flipside (damn you linnemeyerhere ) I'm seriously thinking about getting this EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2 and moving my Antec to the backup. I know I said I wasn't going to do that or spend that type of money, but I really like this PS after reading Johnny guru's review

I've actually seen notices like that from other manufactures. The most recent one I can think of off the top of my head was Nikon on their battery recall - EN-EL15 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Pack Recall

And I don't want to take anything away from these guys, but being this is also a safety issue I'm sure that had a small role to play as well

Anyway.... (damn you linnemeyerhere ).... I went ahead and got this: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2. Looks like I'll be swapping power supplies around next week.
