problems restoring machine back to factory settings

Hi I'm having trouble trying to restore my machine back to factory defaults. I have done this successfully on this machine twice before however this time its not working. I did everything as normal, f8, repair computer, chose the mesh recovery option to reset to factory settings. After about 15 minutes of it cleaning the hhard drive the system trestarted and gave me the swt up system for first time use screens. After going through all these my desktop loaded. However all my previius programs and folders were still there as was the problem with my network adapter driver (one of my reasons for restore)It has also caused my second hdd which was used as a storrage drive to disappear. Now when using f8 I get the usual menu however when I select repair computre it just boots straight to windows and if I select directory services resstore mode it takes me to safe mode. Please can someone help?

You did see "system configuring services" and "first time bootup" or similar texts?

Just want to know if it really did do a "factory restore". At least want to know if it did anything at all... a half restore for example.

Not sure if it did a partial restore. There are new icon and programs etc like bullguard and mesh backup utility. I'm away from pc at the moment. I did have a look in disk management and that shows a few partitions labelled recovery.

Strange it did something. If it had failed it should have told you. And it should result in a corrupt state, or at least old stuff should be gone.

Anyway ... post screenshot of disk management when you're at machine. When will that be?

Has the recovery partition a drive letter? If so ... which drive letter?

Disk1 has a partition called Windows7. It's ACTIVE. It has the bootmanager and bootmenu. Windows7 is also on that partition. This partition is the only partition involved with the boot process.

The 12,5GB Partition is "Recovery Partition". Don't know how win7 determines that.

What is Disk0 partition 465GB? Can you assign drive letters to the 12,5GB and 465GB partition in disk management (at least temporary)? http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/82994-drive-letter-add-change-remove-windows.html

Where disk0 and disk1 already attached to system at the time you bought it? Quite unusual... 2 hard drives.

A 465GB partition "recovery partition" is ridiculous... not a real recovery partition

when i right click on them all i get is a help option. the option to change/assign drive letter isnt there.

No I added a second hard drive hich was just used for storrage but it looks as though it has been wiped.

Yes there was already a 500gb hd in but i added another 500gb hd later.

yes to both when i did it with the 2nd hdd attached it just totally ignored it and left it alone.
