Okay, so I've just installed W7 64bit on a Dell Vostro 3560 twice and both times I fail to reboot the computer. After trying to reboot, it's impossible to start windows. The dell logo appears with a small white bar, then the screen turns black with a cursor on the top left for a split second before rebooting again. It's stuck like this in a infinite loop and there is no way to start windows again :( I figured that something with the drivers or windows update must have failed so I re installed W7 only this time I rebooted the computer immediately after finishing the installation, same thing happened. I've never experienced such a problem before, does anyone have any tips to give?

Hi Plecto,

Kindly follow the steps suggested by Greg which should resolve the issue at hand. You should also ensure while booting the system that there is no disk in the drive and also no USB devices are attached to the system.

You can also perform a diagnostics on the system to ensure there are no hardware issues with the system:

Thanks for the replies, but it actually works now. I installed it a third time and made sure that no discs were in the drive and it works. I had a disc in the drive the last time I tried, but taking it out made no difference. I'm currently installing windows update, I hope it keeps working. I will try the steps mentioned if something were to fail again though. Thank you :)
