So my recently troublesome intel dg33fb finally gave up , looking for replacement mobo. My specs are in the description, please suggest me a good lga 775 socket mobo with 8gb/800mhz ddr2 ram support.

Hi.. thanks for replying.. My budget would be around 5000 Rs I looked at that gigabyte board you mentioned. But it says ddr3 ram supported. would it support 4x2gb ddr2 ram @ 800 Mhz ??

yes, It will support DDR 2. Look at the picture. It has 4 RAM slots. 2 for DDR2 and 2 for DDR3.

Are you aware of any other board which has the same specs as that of dg33fb (i.e) 4 slots and currently available and affordable?? If i use that GB board i would only be able to use 4 GB of RAM. Please do let me know if you do so.

I live in Chennai... Can you suggest any model in GB which supports 8gb?? please mention the rate too, Maybe i can give it a try to get it at a reduced price..(Not too far off though) may be around 6 or 7k ??

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look in to this board and try to get it at a reduced price, If not i will most probably go with the earlier GB board you mentioned and keep the other 2 RAMs as spare ones..

One more thing. the dg33fb is based on ATX form factor. But the GB board you mentioned is Micro-ATX based. will it fit into my cabinet and if it does will it be compatible with my power supply and rest of my PC??

Have you heard of the brand ICE?? the PSU is of the same brand 300W... Would it have mounting points for Micro ATX??

So, yes it will support the CPU. Now availability can be an issue.
