23 simultaneous RAID drivers; which are necessary for system stability

First off I have no idea why anyone would turn off indexing.
This is Windows 7 not XP. You don't have to do all those dipadee do da tweaks in Windows 7.
I use Intel ssd Tool Box not Samsungs. I presume Samsungs is simple to use just like Intel Tool Box.
I also have no idea why anybody would use Raid with two SSD's but each to their own.

I'm trying to figure out which of these, if any, need to be checked (set to autorun on boot).

Please note that I am not even configured for RAID.. I just upgraded to 2x SSDs in my laptop.

My computer seems to be working better since I unchecked all these , except when it forgets what it's supposed to be doing. For example, I'll open my music folder, and it will show 0 items. When I check the folder properties, it says everything is there (xxxx files, xx GB). Or sometimes when I try to play an .mp3, it loads VLC, but won't play anything. I click the play button, but nothing happens. The mouse is still responsive, and I can still click on other things (open the calculator, for example). But 1 out of every 100 or so mouse clicks, and the computer doesn't register the command I just gave it. During this period, task manager always shows CPU usage very low, 0 to 2% (it's not as if it's freezing up because another process is taking up the CPU).

I have a feeling that I unchecked a box or two that are needed for system stability. ..Or do these issues sound like one of the new SSDs could be faulty? Your comments are appreciated.

Try checking everything except for the ones that say RAID. One of them may be the one that you need for the controller your drives are connected to.

Did you run the Rebuild Index?

Britton, I don't have an indexing options tab listed under control panel. It must have disappeared once I turned off windows search and indexing. Is there an alternative way to accomplish this? Thanks

Yes, use the OS optimization in Magician and Activate Indexing. SSDs don't need it but it may help.

Indexing might not help a ssd but it will help Windows 7. Windows7 likes to know where things are located.
To me indexing is like a index in a book.
One knows what is in the book and the index lets you know where in the book it's located so you don't have to thumb through all the pages looking.
A ssd can thumb through the pages faster than a hard drive but the owner of the book (Windows 7) would like to know where things are.

Just my thoughts; I have now scientific websites to proved my theory.

Windows indexing only helps Windows search

1. If you don't use Windows search (personally, i hate it) there's no advantage to indexing. There are several good, freeware alternatives. (I use SearchMyFiles from nirsoft). IMHO It's quick and also gives a single, consistent and easy to use search interface one can use across all versions of windows

2. I think there's also a question of how often someone searches for files on their machine. IMO if you don't searches alot, is also probably better to just turn off indexing. The slight increase in search time for occasional searches is not worth all that constant indexing

All that said, it's still probably a personal preference

Absolutely correct it is a personal preference.

I use Windows 7 Search and a third party program.

ComputerGeek could you post the best site to download SearchMyFiles I would like to give it a try.

SearchMyFiles from Nirsoft (Checkout his website. IMO he writes some GREAT tools - all freeware. Get them direct from his site - no hidden ads or foistware.

p.s. Also check out RegScanner. Huuuuuge improvement over normal registry searches
