I've been getting BSODs since late last year on my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop running Windows 7 32-bit. I wiped out the machine and loaded the OS. But after some time these BSODs came back. Since I needed a reliable machine, I purchased a replacement, but I would like to get this back into working condition, so I can give it to a family member. I can not determine what caused this to start, so I don't know where to begin. Please help.

With the advice that this is a hardware problem, I was about to trash this laptop. So, I removed the HD then thought to run a Bios System check. Of course it noticed the missing hard drive, but I let the remaining tests run. In the end, the memory test found an issue with my 2GB (DimmB). I swapped the two chips and reran the test and it moved to DimmA. I had another 2DB chip and replaced the faulty chip. The system has been running without issue for 2 days.

Feeling that this was the issue, I am ready to reload the OS and prepare the laptop for my family member.

Thanks for the advice.
