All seriousness aside, it's pretty dusty where I live, too. That's why I have air filters on my computer and blocked as many air leaks on it as I can. I can dust a surface using a damp cloth to avoid stirring up the dust and still get a new layer within a couple of hours. I have to vacuum the outside of the dust filters on my computer every few days and open it up no less than once a month to blow it and the filters out no less than once a month. If went any longer between cleanings, I would have to drag it outside to clean it and I'm too old for that nonsense.

I leave mine on until it starts to look ratty. I blow or vacuum the dust off to avoid scratching but, sooner or later, it will happen (I happen to prefer later).

I wish all manufacturers would texturize their surfaces for this very reason. Piano black is great for speakers, furniture and pianos but gloss black plastic is just stupid.

I use the microfiber cloths and LCD cleaner to clean my LCD screens, camera lenses, scanner plattens, etc. However, I blow or vacuum off as much dust as possible first.

oh I can totally understand you I have almost the same case like you do.. I have clean the Filters with Vacuum also I go to job and I clean all of my room once a week and cover things like mouse/controllers/keyboard with a cloth as well as the screens and my pc case so it don't get dusty when im not using it... but still other parts I have to clean with soft dry cloth first and then vacuum that cloth which I cleaned the dust with and then finally wipes of each and every dust particle with another soft wet cloth.. do this with everything in the room and last I Vacuum clean the Carpet it takes at 2 to 3 hours

aha that's why I don't actually want to take it off as when I take a closer look with a bright light on the body of my old Samsung I can see hundreds of lines even though I never cleaned it with a hard cloth just that Glossy bodies catches scratches and dust so quickly...

I agree... I love Matte Finished Bodies they are the best and never gets scratchy all over.. my brother Acer LCD monitor has it and it's still new.

I ripped out the carpet in my home because, 1. It was ugly as sin and, 2. it catches too much dust and doesn't do my allergies any good. Vacuuming a carpet will stir up a lot of dust.

I have glossy plastic surfaces that aren't scratched. My monitor is old enough to have grandchildren and it's still pretty much scratch free. I blow off all the dust before cleaning it, using a soft brush to loosen it if necessary (the blower I use is the hyperthyroid offspring of a leaf blower on steroids). If I tried to wipe the dust off, I might as well use sandpaper.

Vizio makes some decent TV's...but from my skewed view, I personally wouldn't get one. They are a major player now, but their tech/service side is 3rd world. You have to actually go into the set and get all numbers off the boards to make sure you get the right replacement parts. Any major manufacturer with a complete full model number, you can just look it up. Perhaps not an issue for an end user, but it would put me off. A Guy

you'd have to compare too Tommy, Vizios, while less money, often have a lot less features and HDMI connectors.

That is because they are badge engineers, some of their TV's are made by LG (Plasma)and crap generic Chinese manufacturers and no 2 models are the same. To be fair everyone is to a certain extent up to the same thing, even cheap Sony TV's are not really Sony's and are exchange only. The brands of TV I would recommend would be Panasonic, Sony, LG and Samsung. I would do your research and then go seek out the models in store. Don't be surprised if the picture sucks on the set you liked the most in the specs. Get the remote and adjust it. I have 3 LG monitors the wife has another LG monitor, a Samsung 40 "LCD TV, a 50"RCA DLP I built and a Sony 57" 16:9 crt projection TV from 2002 which has a superb HD 1080i picture. Basically TV sets have become disposible and throw away after the warranty has expired as someone has to pay Bill so he can afford his PC and internet. If you are worried buy an extended warranty.
