add more hard disk or change it from letters to numbers

hi every body i have 30 hard disk connected to my pc i run windows seven the problem is im out of letters a to z is all taken is there a way to add more or change it from letters to numbers

It is not possible to have more than 26 mounted drives. If access to more filesystems than this is required, Volume Mount Points must be used. However, it is possible to mount non-letter drives, such as 1:, 2:, or !: using the command line subst utility in Windows XP or Vista (i.e. "subst 1: c:\temp"), but this is not officially supported and may break programs that assume that all drive letters are A-Z.

Shame you can't do what Unix does which effectively allows a directory name as a drive... So you "mount" a disk onto a directory. You'd mount a disk as "c:\data-disk-52" and clicking on it navigates down to that other, now mounted disk.

I can see lots of code changes would be needed (I didn't say it would be easy), and it certainly would break lots of existing things.



It just seems to me a nice feature to extend the "regular" Windows system.
