Who else hates sports?

I hate sports.

I don't care if someone else wants to play a sport and don't care if that person wants to watch that sport on TV. There are plenty of sports networks for sports junkies to watch that boring nonsense.

I hate sports when regularly scheduled programs get pre-empted in order to show some boring crap like "March Madness", the Olympics, World Cup, the World Series, Superbowl and other sports drivel.

Why do they keep trying to ram that unwanted BS down my throat?

Yeah, I have no use for the big money, simulated combat sports. Couldn't care less about football, baseball or basketball, cricket or soccer (the other football). My one guilty pleasure is MMA. Used to be boxing, but that has become pretty tame. I've just about given up on broadcast and cable/satellite. If I could get a little more bandwidth and my local stations, I'd drop 'em.

That would be true and I would be 100% OK with that if it weren't for the fact that they pre-empt regularly scheduled shows in order to show these sports events instead. Keep the sports stuff on the dedicated sports channels and leave other channels alone.

Its the owner of "other" channels that bid to show sports so they can sell more advertisement. They make more money on those sports events then on their regular programs. From what I have seen those regular scheduled programs suck.

When shows one regularly watches are preempted by sports programs, then you don't have control. As far as the Discovery channel goes, if you want to pay for cable or satellite TV for me, I would be happy to watch it. Otherwise, I'm limited to the crap broadcast networks try to feed me. Notice I said try; I'm watching less and less TV because I'm sick of the crappy shows that are becoming increasingly popular (such as the so-called "reality shows", abusive chefs and other employers, one genre music "contests"), the constantly changing schedules, shows disappearing once I get interested in them (for that reason, I will no longer watch any new series), repeats in the middle of the season, etc. I swear broadcast networks want to fail. And don't even suggest PBS, with their endlessly repeated shows, the escalating, ineffectual begging that preempts regular shows with the same old thinly disguised infomercials, and less and less new programming. When are they going to realize viewer support (begging) isn't working?

I voted Don't care one way or the other I dont watch Football, Rugby, Cricket, or about any Sport, I subscribe to SKY but without the Sports Channels so I have a huge range of TV to watch without seeing any sports

The point here is Sports makes more money than your Regular scheduled programing

The fact March Madness is World wide thing not only for Colleges but for Las Vegas bets as well

The money to be made is ridiculous plus CBS if that is the channel you watch hardly promote sports anymore because FOX and TBS and ABC has gobbled it all up all CBS has is March Madness

Now just like you ,I have to suffer the same thing occasionally because of the Westminster Abby Dog show now this isn't a big thing but it does damper your evening when you have it planed to watch something

Anyway my point is Money talks BS walks no money in people watching the same Programing week in and week out but throw a live event on with colossal proportions it will draw all kinds of new viewers it's called Marketing

CSpan. Org.
If it's not on my computer access I don't watch it.
No cable, satellite, not even a antenna on the house for local T.V.
Been that way for about 10 years and I haven't missed it.

The only sports I give half a rat's @$$ about are baseball and Formula 1, and then, I'm not a huge fan of either.
I really don't understand the rabid fanaticism of NASCAR, football, basketball, golf or any other paid professional "sports". It's totally alien to me.

As a guy, I get made fun of a lot because I don't like sports. It's odd. My father when growing up always made me watch them with him and I could never understand it. Ok, so now the team with the ball is on the left, now they went to the right......and? I just didn't get it. Still don't. A lot of things that guys like I have no interest in.

The only things that make me a guy is my love for woman, (but in a good way-not the creepy perverted way most men have become) and video games and then you have the nerdy stuff love for technology.

I LOVE sport, Boxing, F1+Local Racing ciruit, UFC, Bodybuilding/Powelifting, and most importantly FOOTBALL(Soccer)

Sport brings people together, Theres nothing i love more than going to a Celtic game especially CL games..The atmosphere..The faith and the feeling i get..is oh so sweet.

People say that "Should messi be paid 300k a week?" I dont think he should, but i dont think he shouldnt...For starters, HALF of it goes to the government, People come to watch and behold an amazing player, brings people together.
Without sport, i think everyone would go insane if they took it away, The same with music...Tv etc. Also keeps people Fit and have a healthier lifestyle. Thus is just my opinion, But without sport, what would we be?

What game ever ends early? Every time I went to watch a show scheduled to start after the game, &^%$#@! game not only runs over, they still have to talk about it afterward for the full allotted time, then start my show in the middle of it. It happens every bloody time so I just don't even bother anymore. Why the big, fat, hairy heck can't the miserable, misbegotten networks just schedule enough time for overages and talking about the game that was just on? If the game actually ended on time (that would be a shock!), I'm sure the ex-jock sportscasters could manage to fill up the time with their inane chatter.
