So I just have a clean install of windows 7, I use SSD 60GB for the Drive C as the systems.

Then I got 2nd hard disk drive which is 500GB, and 3rd hard disk drive which is 2TB.

I plugged in my USB Drive, copy file to the 2TB hard drive, file copied without any problems, normal processing.

Now I copy the file from USB drive to 500 GB hard drive, file copied very slow, abnormal processing using a very low of cpu usage, 0-3%.

What happened? is my 500GB HDD got bad sector? right now I'm back up the 500GB drive's file into 2TB drive. 4 hours to completion.

Hi there
Check first if USB is on USB 1.1 -- that would operate at GLACIAL Speed -- a river of molasses would move quicker.
Unplug USB / re-boot.

Better still if USB 3 drive and USB 3 ports

Cheers

USB port is 2.0, it's not the port problems, if it is then copy to 2TB hard drive will also slow, but it isn't.

usb 3.0 is still long way to go

Okay, first I copy files slow, I thought hey maybe got a virus. So I do the system restore, there's around 4 restore point. And I tried them all, and it's still slow. So my conclusions is hardware problems.

Right now I'm copying all the data in 500 GB hard drive into 2 TB hard drive. I noticed that there's a moment that the transfer sped is normal, and often it slows as snail, right now which is around 2 MB/s. And that would required 41 hour to backed up all of my data... T-T

While I'm copying all the data, sometimes the 500 GB hard drive goes missing, and then I need to reboot and start copying again. Is that some kind like sign that it's bad sector problem? I'm not checking the bad sector since it could worsen the misery, so back up data first.
