Solved Ordered today the Asus DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-4GD5

Well, i went to upgrade my graphics today and finally ordered this upper mid-range: ASUS Radeon™ R9 270X DirectCU II R9270X-DC2T-4GD5


It had been quite difficult for me to choose between those two others 4GB cards:

"Gigabyte GV-R927XOC-4GD R9 270X 4GB" (better boost stability but manual fans setting required)
and
"MSI Radeon R9 270X Gaming 4GB" (Temps are the highest rated in charts)

Partner Cards: 10 Radeon R9 270 And 270X Boards, Reviewed

Those three cards were priced exactly the same at retailer store w/ a free offer game bundled "Never Settle Forever".

Those review of the 2Gb version here & here made up a bit my mind!

So, I went on Asus brand more for the better site support and heavy built-in capacitors Digit+ Vrm capabilities, and with the feeling it can integrate my actual Asus motherboard settings, despite some little issues on the boost stability performances it got overclocking abilities. Also got a huge 200mm fan on left side door blowing fresh & cool air (which could had been valid for the others!). And at the end...i've got a 700W PSU and this card is rated approx 180W at peak power consumption (at stock clock) for a 500W PSU recommended which gives me little room for others peripherals.

PS: There was also the "Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Dual-X 4G GDDR5 OC" at retailer store and less priced than others but with no game bundle offer.

I've unmount my Radeon 7770 HD VaporX Oc today...cleaned registry and leftover deeply!!

It should be around tomorrow Apm or day after in the morning.

I'm quite happy having step forward to this card version 4Gb, seems some little improvements had been done since version 2Gb went on the market. Plus, a Bios update appear available to improve power efficiency or already installed, depends on the manufacturer.

Well, might be hard to convince her the bill will be less than usual, but at least she could have a happy man in the house ( tell her you quit building litlle things annoying her, but now they will be greater for her goodness!!)!!

I've had the asus 280Xcuii top for the past few months, been a great gpu. Now that cybercoin mining has gone bust you see used 280x's for under $200. I may gamble on getting a good one for xfire.

Past the R9 270x those cards are drawing quite of lot of power when fully loaded. Even 270x with a overall PC system might reach 445W (in OC) or 307W at stock.

Looks minimum requirement for a 280x should be a 750W PSU to have. I'm slightly under with my 700W PSU. I don't even know if PSU will support crossfireX in game multi-monitor with 270x correctly!

Oh well, i had a 7,4% rebate & 1year from original extented + game bundle offer and poor delivery fees. It should do the trick!!

So, back again on topic!

Received today that Asus DC2 TOP R9 270x graphics...Is pretty impressive compare to my previous card size!!

Install smooth from the provided Asus CD with the ATI 13.251.0.0 drivers.
The two power connectors have green leds to aware it is well plugged-in (a little too bright).
The Board is nearly as the same size of the full ATX Motherboard (shorter of three millimeters), the heatsink protrude 3cm of more. Nice touch of aluminium on some parts to get it stiff and quality seems hard plastic feeling on cover. Windows WEI jumped from 7.6 to highest rated 7.9! Looks it quite draws power on the 3.3volt also!!

To not confusing people about that 3,3v drawing power and by my bliss ignorance of own my last sentence.
Pci-e video 6pin are 12v, 75w each!

I had way too much peripherals plugged onto the combined Sata power/4pin Molex rails and had to separate them onto another dedicated 4pin Molex rail and sata power only, so when i was plugging the two Pci-e video, it somehow was sucking a lot of power.
My 12v and 5v are rock stable but confusing me 3,3v does fluctuate here when monitoring.

I'm not sure how much power voltage the motherboard chipset northbridge/southbridge does supply to pci-e slots...should be 3,3v & 1,5 volt?

Ha!

Two days ago i decided to clean my motherboard so i unmounted all apart and did the job with patience and thoroughness and hell of coton buds!!!

Plugged back all and booted fine...but I just frightened myself today.

I ran GPU-Z and saw that the Bus Interface was telling me PCI-E 3.0 x16 @x8 1.1 (max x8 3.0). First, i thought that was because i was on idle.

I couldn't figure myself why the slot wouldn't run at full speed even on a benchmark...thought my Pci-e 3.0 slot was defective somehow or my new Graphics when bad. Did some net search afterward, saw a guy that have similar probs but him was running x4 on the x16 slot...unfortunately seems for him both motherboard & graphics had bios incompatibilities and end up to RMA the all lot!

Until i discovered that my Air Cooler was the culprit, it was just overtightened on the CPU proc. Those metal springs got me wrong!!
