Address Bar

You can copy the path from the Address bar in Windows Explorer.

When the Address bar is showing the path, instead of breadcrumbs, you can highlight and copy any section of it.
You can use Alt + D to switch the focus to the Address bar (it automatically highlights the entire path).

When I am working with folders I normally use a variation of the method that pbcopter posted.
If the folder is already selected, you can press the F2 key to invoke Rename.
