Welcome midi,

Good job on filling in your specs.

lets start with the basic questions.

What build # of the Win_7 ? Where did you get the iso file from ? How did you burn the DVD ? slow x4 speed ?

Any Over Clocking of ram or cpu ?

There have been many installs that work better with only 2gb ram on initial install, then add the other 2gb later after everything is running ok.

Hi.
Thanks DocBrown for quick reply.
Im get it from IEEE - Microsoft Software Offer for IEEE Student members

and i burn using powerISO with 4x speed. I try to install only 2gb memory but no luck.

seems like it all working fine just on the welcome screen, it just stop!
is that anyway to fix it tru safe mode cos i can log into safemode.

Just do another clean installation 64 bit but still no luck! :(

i think i should re-install my xp back :( :( :(

It's always the little overlooked things that cause a hang-up sometimes. :o

Several members have used Kaspersky, so I would give it a try. :)

Enjoy Win_7 ;)

There are a lot of excellent Tutorials here to help you & seasoned members to answer questions. :geek:

The boot manager is from your earlier install that did not work.

Search for the tutorial on BCD edit, etc.

You think now the PCI wireless caused the problem ?

Can you let win7 run connected to the internet via wired router for a day to get any updates. Then retry the wireless to see if it finds the current drivers, or try installing drivers in compatibility mode.

Getting late here in my TimeZone, Gotta do a 12 hour Science Project tomorrow.

I'll check your progress sometime later.

midi,
When you say 'clean install', was that by formatting over your XP,
or did you create a new partition to install w7 into?

If the last case, that "Using earlier windows" may well be your XP Pro,
indicating a dual-boot setup.

Have you tried selecting that option to boot from?

Hi chuckr.

Thanks to this site.

All my problem has been solved. The problem was my DLINK PCI Wireless card make the computer freeze everytime it reach the welcome screen.

What i did: (for those might be have a same problem like me)
- Go to safe mode - disable the wireless device
- restart and the seven will start normally
- after that, enable back my wireless
- and upgrade the drive and its work fine now.

chuckr, i have another problem now.

I have 1 harddrive with 2 partition before (using xp)
Yes, I did clean install which means i do format everything (delete everything on C drive (offcourse on windows 7 menu installation)

but I dont know how the file system can go to my d drive!?!? when i go to computer management, my d drive contain SYSTEM which is i have no idea where its come from.

i try that before to boot using "USING EARLIER WINDOWS" but its just blank. i go to msconfig but i couldnt find any other boot than windows 7

I download EasyBCD and can easily remove the "earlier windows" message screen but i found out on my d drive it had D:\boot which i cant delete it.

Any advise how to remove the system from my D drive (i cant format my d drive cos its contain a lot of files 420 gb of files)

Thanks

midi, you don't necessrily need to remove the boot folder, it will not affect booting if you removed that option.
If you need to, please see if you have ownership of that drive / folder. I would make sure everythign is working fine and not using that boot folder before removing it. Check what is your active / system partition.
