Hello, i'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but i'm working on my dads computer. He currently has windows 7 professional x64 on his dell latitude. However, he needs to install some software for his work that only runs on windows xp professionalc sp3 x86. I already have the windows xp license key and have burned an iso of it to a disk. I already know how to dual boot them, but he only wants a choice of either os if he presses a certian key... How would I set this up?

Hi Zachawii, welcome to the Seven Forums.

You could first check if Windows XP Mode would be enough for your dad. Tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/8247-windows-xp-mode-install-setup.html. it is a free Windows XP SP3 virtual machine running on Windows Virtual PC on Windows 7 host system. XP Mode needs Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate or Eenterprise.

For dual booting XP and Seven, see this tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/8057-dual-boot-installation-windows-7-xp.html

I already tried XP Mode, and it didn't work. Like i said, he also wanted it to only ask if he wanted 7 or XP if he pressed a certain key. I was also wondering if it would be possible to completly clone XP off his old computer. Please reply!
