I have a problem with HD Seagate 3tb, (746.52gb) partition showing up as unallocated, but I can't create a "new simple volume" on Disk Management. How do I fix this problem?
In this attach show the problem.
Thanks All

The MBR file system has a limit of 2.2TB.
To use more than 2.2TB on a single drive it is necessary to use the GPT file system when initializing the drive.
Since your PC boots and runs Windows from Disk 1 you will have no problem switching file systems. Just be certain that there is no data on the drive, as the procedure to switch will erase all of it.
I thought MBR just prevented partitions larger than 2.2 and figured he should be able to make two partitions on that drive--one about 2.2 and the other for the remainder.
No? That 2.2 limitation applies to the entire drive, not just partitions?
If so, I've learned something---thanks for clarification.

Yes. I think I've got it now. I'm expecting a new 3 TB drive Monday and need to know what to expect. I hope to use GPT and have 1 partition for the entire capacity. Data only, not a system drive.

Then you also have these new hard drives with advanced format further confusing things.
