The title is pretty self-explanatory; I keep getting BSOD on steam games, particularly DotA and Civ V. I've been supremely bored without my vidjya, so any help would be much appreciated! I've attached the requisite BSOD paperwork, and am pasting some more stuff, and my system specs should be in my profile.

Hello, and welcome to SevenForums!

First of all, have you overclocked your graphics card at all?

The 0x00000124 error code appears during a hardware complaint, such as overheating. If you have overclocked your GPU, RESET IT IMMEDIATELY. This could be causing numerous critical errors in your GPU, causing the whole system to crash. Also, overclocking can severely damage your GPU. I would only recommend it if you know what you are doing and are not just following a tutorial.

But, this could be other things too. I see that your GPU driver is WAY out-of-date. Download the latest drivers via the AMD website.

Best of luck,

PeregrineX

Dear PeregrineX,

Thank you for the warm welcome! I don't even know HOW to overclock a graphics card, so I don't think it's that. As for the GPU driver, I followed the link and I *think* I updated the correct one? I wasn't sure whether to click "desktop graphics" or "integrated motherboard graphics". Anywho, thanks for the advice, I'll see if it works!

You should have clicked the "desktop drivers" button. Anyways, I'll look into this more when I get home in about fifteen to thirty minutes. I should be able to track down the source of the BSOD.

Ok, the BSOD seems to be caused by your Realtek Network driver (NDIS.sys). Could it be that it happens when playing online?

Alright, I downloaded the one for "Win7 and Server 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program (SID:1656265)", and, I mean, they're Steam games, so I guess they're online? There haven't been any problems yet, so maybe it worked!

Ok, install it, and restart your computer. You can then test it by playing a steam game that is known to cause problems. If a BSOD pops up again, run the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions program, and attach it to a new reply.

Best of luck,

PeregrineX

That seems to have worked! Just played a great game of DotA. Is there a way to give someone a six-pack over the internet?

Unfortunately, no, but I'm glad I could help!

I hope you have no other problems in the future :D
