I have the Toshiba Satellite L850 Laptop and have been using the wireless without any issues. Now I find I cannot get the LAN to work. I have tried disabling the wifi and enabling the realtech PCIe family controller, which is the LAN connection, but I keep getting unidentified network. Is there some sort of confliction between the wifi even though it is disabled and the LAN connection. I am tearing my hair out. The LAN worked fine before I decided to try the WIFI.

Hello and welcome Exfso mate can you tell me what the PART No. is on the bottom of that machine?

It is the label which says what model machine it is and then that number, and is usually near the Microsoft licence sticker. If you cannot find it run Speccy Speccy - Download and as in my pic it will show the machine part number - (that one circled is mine) it is necessary because it relates to where the machine was made or meant for distribution.
I need that to look for drivers as I think you may have a drivers problem.

Some other things you can run too are

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html < use the /f option in Option 2 ifnecessary

Welcome to sevenforums,

What if you go in Control Panel=>Device Manager, search for your Realtek PCIe family controller. Uninstall it by right click.
Reboot your computer to it reinstall the network adapter, you should get rid off the unidentified network.
