24 hour clock keep defaulting back to am/pm setting

Hi All

Sorry but I'm new to win 7 and I have a non critical issue, but it keep irritating me

If I change the time to 24hour clock, outlook and the win time keep the 24hour format, but the it during the day goes back to am/pm setting, this also happens if I restarts or returns after sleep mode.

In XP this newer happened to me, and the funny part is that my calendar that I have a mmm/dd/yy does not go back to default.

I've tried to remove time sync but same issue

The only thing I can think of is you have a program installed that is changing your clock.
Windows 7 will keep your settings as long as the motherboard battery is good and no other program is telling it to change.

Thank you, that is what I was afraid off, talked to our network admins and they did confirm that they do not have any SW that controls time on the machines.

Could your problem be caused by the company network using the AM/PM time format & that is changing your computer. Just a suggestion.

Well it seems like the program that is changing your time could be controlled by your I.T. Department and the network you are on. I'm no network/domain I.T. person but I'm thinking the network/domain and all the computers within need to use the same time. The time probable changes when a update or backup of some sort is done.

I have no idea what a (SW) is.

I would suggest never change the setting the I.T. Department has set. They normally don't like such things done or the people who do them. I know people who have lost their jobs doing such things.

check your BIOS for the settings as well. I had one issue before whereby the time doesn't match no matter what adjustments was made and the culprit found is at the BIOS settings.

Thank you all, but it happened yesterday evening on my home network, so it is not the corporate network, but most likely a software (SW) on the system.
As the time is not changed only the displaying of it with 24hr clock instead of AM/PM, there is not location or time change.

1. Is the time being set in bios?
2. Is the time being set in Windows?
3. Is the time being set in a program?
4. Is the time being set using a gadget?

Where are you setting the time to 24hr?

On the [Customize Format] menu, there are 4 tabs, Numbers; Currency; Time; Date

I select Time and use the standard they have for 24hr long time and short time, for short time HH:mm and for long time HH:mm:ss
Funny thing is that the short time newer changes back to h:mm tt it will stay HH:mm 24 hour setting.

I now have the feeling that it might be Outlook that changes the time, I have not found a way to get around it.

Some where I have read others had a problem with Outlook causing a (Time) problem.

I don't remember if the problem was solved or not.

It is Outlook, it seems hard to solve, if I find a solution I'll post it here.
