Hello everyone!

First:

I'm new in here and not an native speaker, so please don't beat me if not everything is 100% correct. :P
Just correct me, thank you! ;)

About my problem:

Sadly the list was too long for the title, so here is the list:

KBs:
KB2667402
KB2849470
KB2864202
KB2868038
KB2961072
KB2888049
KB2750841

Error codes:
Code 800B0100
Code 8024200D
(as far as I know it could mean my PC shut off during an update)

Here some background infromations:

Two months ago someone destroyed my PC, since the beginning of august I'm finally able to build my new desktop PC. In this process I tried to reuse my old HDDs (bothe WD Green 2TBs, both work fine), which was succesfull. Shouldn't be to important but just to be safe.

In the process of preparing windows 7 (Professional x64) I had some driver problems (motherboard) because I tried to use my old boot drive.. in the end I newly installed Win7 on my SSD and it worked. Right now only the old boot drive isn't whiped. But so far I hadn't any problems because of that.

Afterwards I started updating. As far as I know the PC had once or twice a problem while updating. I think it shut off. At least once - I tried to reach the fan control of my pc-case and missed the right button (wasn't used to the new case).

In about this time the problems with the updating started. I think it was before I could do my first backup (sadly).
But I still think there is a solution.. even though it's hard.

My trials so far:

1. error code 8024200D and security update KB2667402 - Microsoft Community
Irma
Select Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features, View Installed Updates. Locate KB2667402 in the list and remove it. Restart your computer and download and install the KB2667402 again.
- Gerry C J Cornell

2. Secure boot (and then updating)

3. microsoft "fix it"

4. Windows safe mode (and then updating) (.. I think.. maybe this was just point 5. and I am mixing up, not totally sure)

5. C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 name change to catroot2.old
and
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution name change to SoftwareDistribution.old
in safe mode, restart and then try updating

6. Downloading the update manually and install it (just tried it KB2667402 and KB947821)
For example Download Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2667402) from Official Microsoft Download Center
I think once it told me it worked (but in fact it wasn't the case).
Edit: Tried it again, told me it worked. But... you know the drill.. haha

7. Sevenforums to do list
http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-...4840-windows-update-posting-instructions.html
System Update Readiness Tool completed.
sfc /scannow completed.

Here also a part from CheckSur.txt (CBS as dropbox link at the end):

I hope my informations were usefull. If not or you need more, just ask!
I also can send a DxDiag if you want so (and can tell me if there are personal informations which I should delete first. haha).

Thanks a lot for your help and patience!

Sincerely,

MisterBroda

P.S. I think tonymaloney ( http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-...ate-kb2961072-failed-error-code-800b0100.html ) has/had a similar problem.

P.P.S. Probably nothing important, but I tried to start Sniper Elite v3". But two minutes after the start of the campaign my PC "freezed". It was while the slowmo killcam started. It looked like a texture got stretched over the screen. I'll have to check that again later. But maybe it's a hint towards my AMD GPU.

I've uploaded a file - mbaaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder mbaaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Great - the files are fixed.

Now please run SFC /SCANNOW, and post the new CBS.log file, then attempt your updates again.

If you copy the file to the desktop, you can open the copy in Notepad ;)

The SFC scan was clear, so with luck at least some of the updates should install now.

Haha yes, that was it. :D

About the problem: I couldn't install all updates, I think two didn't work.
I tried a restart and afterwards my internet connection didn't work. Proxy issues or something.
I made some pictures of it. I hope it's unterstandable even tough the language is german.
If not i'll translate it.

Edit: forgot to mention I made a rollback (recovery point).

Do you need any other files?

Strange!
Please post your C:\Windows\Windowsupdate.log file

I suspect that KB2667402 is the one we really need to get installed..

...do a new Check For Updates. - see what the list is like then

It's in the attachment.

Sadly it only tells me, it's already installed.

Made two screenshots (important updates and optional ones). (attachment).

If you want I can redo the step where I downloaded the files from your one drive and I lost internet connection.
I'll can copy then the CBS folder and roll back afterwards.

Ah - it's no longer in your list of available updates, either ;)

OK - we go to the next oldest, then...
Download Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2750841) from Official Microsoft Download Center
This is the one most likely to have caused your problem last time - it deals with a problem in IPv6 so may affect that area.
Please first create a new System Restore point manually (the update should create one itself, but...)

make a note of any settings
Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command

IPCONFIG /ALL

post the output, then try the update.

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

Made a System recovery point. And here is the .txt with the command output:

I made a comment about the WiFI-USB-Stick. It's not my main entrance to the internet.
I use primarily the cabel.

Now I try updating it.

Edit: Told em to restart. Doing it now.

Edit: Worked, uploading some logs in a few secs.

Edit: Here it is!

Short info: A few seconds after loggin into my account, the Internet connection didn't work for some seconds (earlier it was here almost immediately). But I don't think it's something to worry. Just for the record.

Hello, I'm back.

Thank you for your answer.

Sadly I had a problem. I switched off my computer but forgot do disable the download..
so it installed the rest of the updates. Had the problem with internet conectivity again.
After a rollback it works fine again.

So, to the updates:

The first and the second worked fine, but the third one made problems again.
No internet connection.

I'll attache the logs after the bad update (name begins with "during???.log" and ".png")
and after the rollback. (name begins with "after???.log")

Edit: I slowly start believing KB2961072 hates me. haha

SO - we now know that its KB2961072 that's causing the problem, and everything else is installed still??

The Windowsupdate.log is - as usual - confusing.

Since this is a low-level driver update, I suspect that maybe your security software is getting in the way - try a Clean Boot, and installing the update from there.

Edit: Oh forgot, yes, everything is installed except that one.
Edit 2: It just deletes the Micosoft Essentials definition update, but I can install it without problems trough the Programm itself.

Sadly no success. I'll attach the new logs.

Is there another .log or DxDiag which I could post to help?

Oh and in WindowsUpdate.log is something written about "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution".
I could attache "ReportingEvents.log" or some of the files from
"C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\Logs" if it helps too.

Haha I feel sorry for not being able to be more useful in this case.
Normally it appears that I can solve lots of issues. :o :D

Hmmm - that error in your screenshot is an Access Denied one, I think - and may well be in the registry.

Let's see if I'm right...
Create a System Restore Point
Please open Regedit (carefully! _ errors made there cannot be undone!)

Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Services\AFD branch, and right-click on the entry (for AFD itself) - select Permissions
What are the listed users, and what permissions does each have?
Do the same for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_AFD

Close regedit

Run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt, and post the results.

REG QUERY HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_AFD /S
REG QUERY HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AFD /S
ICACLS C:\Windows\System32\drivers\afd.sys
ATTRIB C:\Windows\System32\drivers\afd.sys

It seems like there is no "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Services\".
I couldn't find anythign with the searchterm "\AFD". Do you have a clue where to look?
I'll wait for your before I proceed to be sure I don't mess up the registry.

Under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\" there are
ControlSet001
ControlSet002
CurrenControlSet
MountDevices
RNG
Select
Setup
WPA

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_AFD permissions are:

Everyone
Ownership rights
System

There are also only two admin accounts (my main admin and a backup admin) and one normal user, made by me.
