I have dozens, if not hundreds, of programs installed on my Win 7 64-bit computer. Only one of them--a web design program--exhibits a generic "blank page" icon on the task bar, instead of the program's icon. I have tried refreshing the icon cache to no avail. I have scoured the internet but can't seem to find a solution. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? Any and all help appreciated!

Let start off the simple way.

Put the same icon on your Desktop.
Right tick on the icon.
Select Properties.
Under Short Cut select Change Icons and see if there is a selection of icons.

Yes there is a selection of icons there but the desktop icon is fine-- it is the program's icon. It's the icon on the TASKBAR that is generic..

Is that Icon on the Taskbar when the program is closed?
You can remove the icon from the Taskbar and leave the one on the Desktop.
Right tick the Icon on the Desktop and select Pin to Taskbar.
Once pined to the Taskbar it should look just like the one one the Desktop.

If that doesn't work I'm thinking it's the program that is generating the Icon and don't know how to help with that.

This tutorial by Brink may or may not help. Take a read.

As stated in my original post, I have already tried to rebuild the icon cache several times - to no avail.

I don't want a shortcut for the program on the desktop. I don't want the program icon pinned to the taskbar. I merely want the icon to display properly on the TASKBAR when the program is open...
