Action center telling me install USB control driver but already instal

Don't know why i am getting this message but there are no drivers to install , all shows everything is OK .

Baffled, any ideas

I did have a look on the Asus Website .. To see if they have had any recent Drivers Updates ..


They sure do not have any for your USB ..


Only thing they seem to have recent is BIOS Updates ...

Motherboard manufacturers tend to stop updating drivers at the download section for older hardware. You have better chances of finding latest drivers on download section of newer models or chipset manufactures.

I suggest using Snappy Driver Installer to identify, download and install latest drivers. If you need further assistance, you can attach its logs here.

No, i don't have that update utility installed , i have never updated my bios, is that something that i need to do?

I included a screenshot of device manager , i have disabled some of the services but i get the same message even when i enable them

I know your the developer of this program and i did look into it but your link was immediately flagged by Emsisoft anti malware as having (backdoor attributes).

It may be safe but i am always extremely skeptical about brand new unproven programs

There are BIOS Updates .. But that is not some thing i would recommend ..


Your issue is not that serious and i do not see the BIOS Update fixing it ...


Unless your USB 3 Ports are not working ..

Snappy Driver Installer is Open Source so you can audit the source code for malicious activity and if you don't trust compiled binaries, you can compile it yourself.

Well the USB 3.0 ports have always worked but at times that message still came up. I decided to check the driver and scanned it then followed the instructions to download.

That took care of the message and all seems fine , is it necessary to uninstall the driver thats in there before installing the new one , because i didn't .

I am on a free trial of Emsisoft at the moment but i have been a long time Kaspersky user before . Trying to figure out which one uses less resources , hard to tell . I will uninstall Emsisoft soon and try Kaspersky again.

I figured it was a false positive , i think your program sounds excellent and am looking forward to trying it , i hate Slimdrivers and i don't like doing it one by one either , takes too long.

I've gotten those before, the action center is just finally catching up to a previously reported problem even though the solution has already been found.

It threw me for a while until I realized that it was finding a solution from a very old problem report.

If you click on view all problem reports at the bottom of the action center you can see the original date of the problem.
