Hi Jim,
To my eyes it looks like memory corruption on the graphics cards. I would run some video card tests.

Yes that will work very nicely. From the shots of your game some parts of the image were corrupted yet information for the POV control panel was fine. Seems to me the only thing that can cuase this would either be Graphics card memory of system memory. You could also try running memtest overnight to see if there are any errors in the RAM.

MemTest86 - Offical Site of the x86 Memory Testing Tool

Take your time and don't jump to conclusions. It could even have been just one of those things unless it happens all the time.

Any time you run any stress test, watch the temps and stop the test if temps get too high. Stress tests are made to create high stress which causes very high temps. So, watch temps closely. Temps will rise very high very fast, which is normal and most cards will level out at a certain temp. The same goes for a CPU test with Prime95 but not so much with memtest86+.

which model 290 is that? 1400 on the ram is a massive oc over stock. Also 3dmark is a far better tool to use as the drivers will throttle down furmark

Edit- Can also try a newer driver set. I've been running 14.8 whql drivers without issue (they list them only for apu's but they install and run fine for all cards). There is also a 14.7 beta3 set

If you got no errors in either test I would so your hardware is fine and there must have been some random corruption in the OS or memory. Keep a look out for it happening again.

I had this happen on my GTX580SLI setup on BF3 about a year ago and it turned out to be the seating of my cards, they had waterblocks which made them heavy and they had sagged in the slot, try blowing out your pcie slot and reseating your card.

Also had issues months later with both my cards being on the same rail of my PSU, switched the cables to run 1 card on each rail and that fixed the issue, not really relevant in your situation but if you have alot of components in your system and dual 12v rails try balancing your components over both rails.
