I have Win7 32-bit disk, need 64-bit

I attended the New Efficiency seminar in Phoenix today, and at the end of the seminar they handed out Windows 7 (final) to each attendee. However, the version they handed out is the 32 bit-version! It came with one disk, and the disk is clearly labeled 32-bit software.

Now that I have the 32-bit version of Win7, can I get the 64-bit version of Windows 7 (without buying a whole new copy)? If so, how? Has Microsoft started offering a media alternate to Win7 32-bit like they did with Vista?

A warning to anyone planning to attend the New Efficiency seminars...they are handing out 32-bit versions of Win7. If I had known that, I wouldnt have gotten up at 6AM and traveled 30 miles in rush-hour traffic to attend the seminar.

It's funny how much they are pushing the switch to 64-bit, but still continue to assume that most will be using 32-bit and hand that out instead.

I'm thinking that if you could find an RTM copy of the cd from somebody, you could use the key that they provided to you and activate it.

The key will work on either x86 or x64 of the same edition but you will have to find the disk on your own. Just do a google search, download it, but make sure to do a hash check before installing it.

Yes, just to clarify, what Zahl, above, means is make sure the hash values for whatever you download match the official MS hash values, so you know you have a clean unmodified iso of the x64 version to work with. You can use a free app called "hashtab" to check the hash values. This app adds another tab to the "properties" dialog that enables you to check and compare hash values for any file.
