I've had a bit "down" day today, mostly watched TV, done nothing else. I love Agatha Christie having read all her novels and short stories several times throughout the years, finished just watching a few of old Miss Marple films starring Joan Hickson, my favorite Miss Marple.

I was thinking about Miss Marple. How awful it would be to know someone like her; wherever she goes, whatever she does, someone always dies! Why doesn't the Scotland Yard put her in house arrest, every time she leaves her home there's a murder or two?

Today, ( or more precisely Yesterday), I finally retired my old Test PC - It seems It's been around forever, 2GB AMD 4800x2, that had been running a copy of Windows 8.1 x64, Had not switched it on for several months, and I just wouldn't start, System is no longer really worth any work thrown at it.

I have always kept a spare system for testing so it looks like I will be in the market soon for a replacement for my main system Need to look at a bare-bones system, and then transfer my current extras, mostly SSD and other storage, and build my current system into a spare for network systems and OS interactions.

I do have an old netbook recently converted to run Ubunto Linux that is fun getting to network with My Samba (windows) network, but am quite impressed by the way things have moved on

UEFI makes it even harder.

After re-seating, it assumed the optimized BIOS defaults and got back to UEFI, which made the system unbootable. I had to change the BIOS elements on a trial and error basis to make it boot back .... which took more time than the dismantle - reseat.

I have old HDDs there containing lots of valuable data which I cannot abandon. So I cannot use UEFI and get the PITA every time.

True. I seem always have issues in fitting everything back in to the case. Usually I'm left with some leftover wires and components, yet the PC seems to be working...
