hey there i just wanned to update my copy of windows 7 to windows 7 sp1.. i followed the instructions as said on this page but there seems to be no important updates link as it is shown on this page.. soo how do i install sp1 using windows update.. thanks!

No. If you don't want automatic updates you can turn them off when you click change settings.

Why don't you want to install security updates and fixes? -- they are supposed to give better security and fix things.
that's coz i have only 6GB of free space on my C:\drive.... my laptop came with a 20GB ssd and a 320GB hdd.. i installed the windows on the SSD and the program files on the hdd...
Is the performance gain really worth all that trouble?
Maybe consider using the SSD for caching, and install windows on your bigger drive. would improve your overall loading performance (at the cost of some start up time).

yeah i tried that probably a thousand times.. but the ssd gets flushed after a few days... why else do you think i used what i am using now... anyways i installed windows 7 sp1 and i still have 7 gb of free space.. earlier it was 7.61 gb...
