Solved suggested Graphics Card for excellent text display

I am in the market for a new computer. Are there differences in graphics cards when it comes to excellent text display? Are high end graphics cards known for gaming also good for excellent text display?

I do some video and photo editing but use my computer for long hours of research and require sharp screen text.

Really any discrete GPU should provide you with sharp, crisp text display on any modern PC in an situation. However, if you're going to be video and photo editing you may benefit from GPU rendering. It doesn't really matter how good your video card is if you have a poor monitor/display.
You'll probably find its the monitor that be the deciding factor not the video card.

Agreed. A good quality monitor will likely be more important than buying a high end video card. A video card in the mid-range should do nicely, as long as the monitor is capable of better than average resolution and has a good refresh rate. Something in the 1920 x 1080 resolution on a monitor should do nicely. They can be had for around $200 CDN for a decent one. Not sure what the corresponding prices are in the US, but should probably be cheaper.

My sincere thanks to all who have taken the time to respond to my question. Your replies have been very informative.

I do have a good quality monitor with excellent sharpness. Just wasn't certain if I should worry over the installed video card when choosing a new computer.

Radeon HD cards don't do well with Internet explorer so if possible go for a Asus gtx
HD cards are all to popular with ie10-11 issues although work okay with Firefox/ Chrome..,

Slightly OT, but I've never heard of that before and I've used Radeon HD cards exclusively for years. IE works just fine for me with no problems at all. If anything, I would say I have more problems with Firefox than IE, but I can't stand the interface, so I only use IE for this site and for my university's website, as FF doesn't work for either of those.

Thanks for the input
Many have complained about text scaling in ie and the people that did post system spec's showed using hd cards :/
Probably gpu rendering issue but the people were more complaining than looking for a solution
