I think it might be so if you got one with DDR3 memory.
Plus, I got DDR2 and so the memory bandwidth is lesser than yours.
The memory clock for 8600 Gt is 700Mhz and for 9500 GT (DDR2) it's only 500Mhz!

Me GPU sucks, but it's enough to play most of the games @ 25-40 FPS @ 1440x900 resolution!
