Hi SevenForums Community

I found some good help here before and assisted some others, so hoping I can rely on this community again.

I've been searching all over Google and cannot find any assistance.

PC Specs:

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Intel i5 4670k CPU 3.4GHZ
Intel DH87RL Mobo
Sapphire Radeon 7770HD OC Edition Graphics
8GB Ram(1x DDR3 chip)
120GB Sandisk Extreme SSD
500GB Seagate Baracuda HDD
Mac USB Keyboard used for the past 3 years, problem only started around 3 months ago.
Mad Catz Rat 5 Mouse

Problem:

While I play games, pretty much any game at full screen, I can here a very soft beep. Once this happen, the button I pressed last, ie W for forward, seems to get "stuck". The character would just keep moving in that direction for a few seconds. Doesn't matter what I do or press on the keyboard, nothing seems to stop this.

After a few seconds(around 2-5 seconds), the screen seems to freeze for a split second as if the computer is loading, then the character would keep running again. At this stage, when I press that same direction button, the key would be "unstuck".

I only get the one beep at the beginning of this even and this is most annoying. This happens wether I play offline or online.

I've read that it might be either a language pack(pressing ctrl+space changes language in Windows 7), but I do not have any other language pack installed other than English. I've also checked if the shift button was pressed a couple of times to activate accessibility, but this is also not the case.

I've been running SpeedFan a few times and there's no overheating issues either.

It's not graphics card drivers. I've uninstalled complete and the latest driver came out a few weeks ago.

Please can anyone assist with this?

I've got a 700GB Gaming PSU that's around 7 months old. So I doubt that that can be the problem. Also, games I've recently played specifically with this issue: Evil Within, COD Ghost, Shadow of Mordor. This have not happened once yet with Injustice Gods Among Us though.

If the keys seem like they are getting "stuck" that to me sounds like its the keyboard itself that could be the issue. Especially if you are using a mac keyboard that is designed for macs. Even if the keyboard that is being used is usb; still; that could be the main issue here. But before you go and replace the keyboard; i would go into the control panel and check under the keyboard section where it shows the repeat rate i think it is. That might possibly be set too much. I would first experiment with that and see what happens. Post back if it doesnt help.

Also have a pretty bad speaker setup which is a klipsch promedia 5.1 surround speaker setup with huge subwoofer and lg blu ray player/writer. Also a hp officejet pro 8600 plus wireless all in one and a logitech s7500 webcam.
Thanks matts6887

I've got a spare keyboard at work which I'll take with me today and try that anyway.

I doubt that it's the keystroke settings as this only started a few months ago and worked before, but I'll give it a shot if they other keyboard does the same.

Where is the beeping coming from? Your regular computer speakers or from within the case? If within the case, then you have hardware issues - like failing RAM, heat, fan failure, or even CPU failure.

Hi

Thank you for all your responses.

The sound came from the speakers/headphones only.

I replaced the keyboard and it turns out everything is perfect again.

So, it would be safe to say that the keyboard was faulty.
