OS will be available for £30 until January
Cash-strapped students are now able to pre-order Windows 7 for less than half the £80 price tag, ahead of the operating system’s official release later this month.
Microsoft’s student offer launched yesterday, and UK students with a valid ‘.ac.uk’ email address from their institution can now pre-order Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional for £30, while US students with a ‘.edu’ address pay $30.
The firm hopes that students can’t afford to buy a new machine but want to upgrade their system for the new academic year will take advantage of the operating system’s discounted price.
Windows 7 is released on 22 October, while the student deal closes on 3 January 2010.

Really good deal. Windows 7 is well worth £30 without a doubt.
