How do you two watch movies or shows in flash? I have been using Google chrome because flash is sandboxed.

I never said I don't use Flash. Only that I agree it's safer not to have it.

I run my browsers through Sandboxie. And I have EMET for exploit protection of both the browsers and Flash. For extra precaution (in Firefox) I have all plugins disabled and when I need one I change it to "Ask to activate". When I close the browser Sandboxie deletes all contents including any browser modifications which means next time I start Firefox Flash is still disabled. So I'm not that worried

Personally I turn on the t.v. or insert a dvd to watch a movie
Only poorly designed website require flash/ shockwave player to see it,
In that case it must not be worth watching
Youtube garbage does not require flash player to see it.

Hulu still uses flash, you can get some free movies and tv shows.
IMDB still uses flash, you can get some free movies and tv shows but more limited.

Adobe is aware of reports that CVE-2015-0313 is actively being exploited in the wild via drive-by-download attacks against systems running Internet Explorer and Firefox on Windows 8.1 and below. Adobe recommends users update their product installations to the latest versions:

• Users of the Adobe Flash Player desktop runtime for Windows and Macintosh should update to Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.305.
• Users of the Adobe Flash Player Extended Support Release should update to Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.269.
• Users of Adobe Flash Player for Linux should update to Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.442.
• Adobe Flash Player installed with Google Chrome, as well as Internet Explorer on Windows 8.x, will automatically update to version 16.0.0.305.

Firefox disabled my Flash plugin this morning, and just like roughly 2 weeks ago I had to go and manually download the update from Adobe because the built-in plugin checker told me the plugin was up to date. Plus the error page I got when clicking on it gave me some Mozilla entry from over 2 years ago instead of one relating to the current issue.

At least the new Flash plugins work fine. I can't say the same for Java 8. I've sat on 7 for some time, thought maybe it would be a good idea to update, and big surprise, Minecraft had issues. First I had to grab a manual patch for Forge because Java 8 hates Forge for Minecraft 1.6.4. Then when trying to go through the block/item menu for one of the more item-heavy mods I use, the game crashed and refused to restart after multiple attempts, so it seems THAT mod is also on Java 8's hate list and somehow had decided it just wouldn't let the game run at all. I had to download and reinstall Java 7 just to get the game working again.

I think it's hassles like that which make some people wary of or just unwilling to update programs to "fix" security issues- you don't know if this new version is going to break something. But as I said, Flash has been pretty smooth about not breaking things.
