You won't be forced to buy Windows 10; you can continue to use Windows 7 after MS decides to end their support.

What influenced you to predetermine that Windows 10 is a disaster? It hasn't even been fully developed at this time.

You will be able to use Win 7 after Win 10 comes out. Win 7's EOL (End Of Life) is 1/14/2020, which is when M$ will no longer provide security updates. Win 7's mainstream support has already ended, meaning M$ will no longer make new features or fix any remaining bugs unless they are security related.

There are dangers in judging what the final OS will be like from early releases. It may differ in very significant ways. I am sure that some Microsoft executives were hesitant to release Windows 10 as it was because people would make premature judgments. Windows 10 is intended for a wide audience and as such will have many things individuals will dislike. This is inevitable. Designing an OS involves making many decisions. Many of these decisions will be hard, some very hard. In some cases no matter what the decision some people will say it was a stupid choice. You can't please everybody.

There are very experienced members of this and the Windows 10 forum that predict Windows 10 will be a big success, in spite of things they do not like.

XP is widely acknowledged as Microsoft's most successful OS. But in the early days there were "experts" that predicted it would be a flop. I am sure the same was said for every OS every released.

Keep in mind that Win 10 is still in testing and development stage. One thing M$ did right this time is letting the public test Win 10 early in its development and letting them report back on problems they find and make suggestions, unlike they did with Win 8 when they foisted upon us and basically said, "Like it or lump it!" (most people said to lump it).

There are things about Win 10 I like and some I don't. So far, I haven't seen anything that would make it worth my while to upgrade from Win 7 when it comes out later this year but that doesn't mean I won't later on down the road before Win 7 reaches EOL.
