Solved BSODs when playing games or watching youtube

Once you have run DDU to uninstall the AMD graphics drivers, you shouldn't need to do that any more since it has already removed them. If you go by the tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html you should get a clean install every time without DDU. Installing the graphics adaptor is fine. We just don't want it installing an Nvidia driver with it.

The only reason you would have to buy a new copy of Windows is if you are running an illegal copy of Windows now. Is that the case? If not, you can borrow someone else's disk if it is the same version and same bit (X64 or X86) as yours. The disks are the same. It is the key that activates the program. Based on your system specs, any retail disk of Home Premium X64 can be used to install Windows. You will just activate I with your key.

My copy is legal but I don't have anyone I can borrow a disk from.

Ok, if all goes well, I might actually get a chance to do a clean install sometime next week. I do have one more question before then if that's ok. I recently got a usb bug code error and since that seems to have to do with the regular USB 2.0 ports I just want to ask if this is also something that can be resolved by a clean install or if it indicates that there's a problem with the motherboard?

Thank you for all your help.

Your dump file reads

USB Driver bugcheck, first parameter is USB bugcheck code.

Arg3: 0000000066725045, Signature that was expected
Arg4: 0000000000000000

To answer your question, it really doesn't tell. Most always the USB drivers are in the Chipset drivers. Did you download your drivers from Gigabyte's web site? The problem looks to be in the signature, which should indicate you downloaded it from somewhere else or maybe the driver is corrupted. I would go to Gigabyte's web site for your particular board and update all the drivers, particularly the Chipset Drivers. Also, in case I neglected to tell you, if you have any of the Gigabyte Utilities installed, uninstall every one of them.

Feel free to ask me any question you would like. I don't mind at all. If we can't resolve this pretty soon, just let me know when you have a new copy of Windows.

Sorry for the wait, I was finally able to get a new copy of Windows installed and it's been running the last several days without any problems at all. I guess re-installing the OS is a must when you change motherboards.

I just have a couple questions for future reference if that's ok. Are there any other sort of hardware changes that necessitates re-installing the OS? Like, for example, changing CPUs but keeping the same motherboard? And, is it a good idea to update network and audio drivers regularly like it is for video drivers or only when there's a problem?

And thank you very much for helping me with this issue, I really appreciate it.

If you change Motherboards, you have to do a clean install. Pretty much anything else just remove the old drivers and install the new ones. It is always advisable to check for newer drivers every once in a while.
