hi

windows 7 64 bit is installed on my system.

I installed win7 codec ..found from http://www.sevenforums.com/music-pictures-video/16179-win7codecs.html

I have some movies (avi) with DTS audio.. WMP plays the movie but not the sound. so I followed the instruction half way down from the link above. (see below)

If you have DTS audio in an AVI container, follow this proceedure for playback in WMP or MC;

Open the appropriate settings application . . .
use the 32bit application for a 32bit player, or the x64 application for MC on x64 systems
Change the AVI splitter under the AVI TAB to Gabests splitter
then rename the AVI to MP4
now your file will play.

After following this instruction, WMP llibrary won't list MP4 files. I have been trying to search for a solution but without a success.

Any solution please?

And WMP won't support Korean sutitle. how to load korean sutitles?

Have you tried using another player. Give VLC player a try: VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player

On an x64 system you also need to install the Shark007.net - x64 Codecs

Is the subtitle file named the same as the movie? example; movie.avi | movie.srt

Also try renaming both files to contain only ascii characters such as movie.avi

To fix this you need to re-setup the library.

Remove all the files from the library without deleting them from your computer,
close WMP, re-open WMP, and add the directries back into the library.

That should fix your issue.

I've the same problem, it may after install Divx or Realplayer. The Windows Media Center won't list any mp4 file in Video Library, but it work for Windows Media Player. Any idea!?:geek:

MP4 is a natively supported format that isnt touched by the installation of the Shark codecs. i can only guess that some other installation has affected this aspect of the Operating System.
