Solved Beeps on Startup after OS clean install

Hello, I've just changed my HDD for an SSD. Installed Win 7 Ult. SP1 64bit. Install quick and no problems--so I thought! System on HDD worked well but slow--no other problems. Now on Startup with the SSD (a Kingston SV300S37A 120GB SATA) I get 2 beeps every time. I searched around for answers--RAM chief suspect--but checks out ok with MEMTEST 86--no errors--No loose connections etc.
I uninstalled all my progs again and did a reinstall--same problem--2 beeps on bootup!
Appreciate your help on solving this irritation---System works well otherwise.
No problems indicated in Device Manager.
The PC is a Fujitsu-Siemens Esprimo P Mo Bo is FS D2151-A1 BIOS FS/Phoenix 5.00 R1.10.2151.A1
BelArc shows the SSD to be healthy.
Could there be a compatibility issue somewhere?

When it beeps on bootup (power on) that is usually a sign of a hardware problem. Most motherboards to a "POST" (Power On Self Test). Some hardware device is failing the POST.

As you were into the PC to replace the drive, you could have accidentally loosened a device. With the PC powered off, open the case and reseat (unplug then plug back in) the Memory, hard drive/SSD drive cables, any cables for optical drives, etc. Power on and see if you still get the beeps.

Resetting the BIOS is another option. But, before you reset it make note of any custom settings so you can reset them.

The PC vendor should have a listing for the beeps.

On a Dell two beeps is memory. May or may not be the same on your system.

Try reseating the RAM sticks, check for debris in slots to blow out, ensure they are securely connected with clean plugs.

Hi Fireberd, Gregrocker, thank you both for your info/advice. I did all the usual basics before posting--didn't think I should say so. I put the HDD back in---no beeps! That tells me it's SSD related. I actually took everything out -even renewed the thermal contact paste on the Processor. No change.
A thought! The Fujitsu has quick release attachments for the HDD, instead of screws. These are made of plastic and metal & the screws are substituted by metal spigots which slot into the screw holes. That metal part actually makes contact with HDD and the metal Computer case. Could it be that such metal contact--grounding maybe-- is necessary? SSD's are smaller and require and adapter to fit into the HDD position, and mine is Plastic---no physical contact between SSD & Case! What do you think?
As regards beep codes---I get 2 beeps,--1-1. and there is no such pattern in the Fujitsu /Phoenix code lists!

You had no beep problems before swapping to a ssd, there should be no reason to go checking anything else.

Never heard of a hard drive or ssd needing to be grounded, this should have nothing to do with your problem.

Whenever you change hardware on a PC, you might get a beep or 2 and you`ll get a message telling you to hit F1 etc to go into the bios to confirm, you do that once and that should be it, no or normal beeps from then on

The SSD mounting is not an issue. I have SSD's in my PC.

As it apparently boots up OK, check the BIOS or better yet as I originally suggested, reset the BIOS.

G'day, Booted up today---NO BEEPS!! Have done nothing since last posts to cause this.
Just to check, I removed the SSD put the old HDD back in, no problems. Refitted the SSD Startup normal--no beeps---so wehat has happened here? Gremlins! :devil: Unexplained. Wait and see if it remains so.

Just some information.

SSD's and hard drives are grounded through the harnesses (connections) to the motherboard and power supply.

No need for the SSD or hard drive cases to be grounded. If they are hooked up properly you can hang them in mid air and they will work.
