How do you fix corrupted files found by SFC /SCANNOW?

I had the same problem .. removing just KB3022345 cleared the 'scannow' corruption!

Brand new install of Windows 7 and after installing Windows update KB3022345 I received this issue with SFC. Microsoft really needs to fix this issue. Luckily it is an optional update so I can choose to not install it. I will not be disabling auto updates and not installing any updates as some users have suggested. You don't fix a problem by creating new ones.

Hi- Same problem.

I joined up just to tell you all my experience. I uninstalled KB3022345, ran scannow but nope it didn’t fixit. So I googled KB3022345 and it coughed up the MS site where it stated that KB3022345 was superseded by KB3068708 (06-12-15). This also was on my comp same time so I uninstalled that too. This time scannow came up clean.

So the more recent update (06-12-15) may cause the problem to re-occur. Better check it out.

The purpose of this(these) update(s) was explained but I sure didn’t really grasp exactly what it was supposed to do. Something about improving my “Customer Experience.” Off hand that doesn’t sound like it’s on my side.

4:40 am next day:
Well at 4:00 am MS Auto Update reinstalled KB3068708.

I followed up with the more info link provided for KB3068708 and read it all the way through (this time) and found this:

"When an advanced user runs the System File Checker Tool (sfc.exe), the files are unintentionally flagged as corrupted. There is no impact or actual corruption on a device that is running this update, and this issue will be fixed in a later service update."

I still don't understand it. I still don't like it. I will cease to worry about it. I hope this eases the terrible load under which we have all been laboring.

Resolution for Replacing Corrupted Files

I came upon this thread & was successful in extracting the file "sfcdetails.txt". However, unless I overlooked it, I never found a final resolution for replacing corrupted files found in the .txt file. Could someone point me to it. I can upload my .txt file if needed. Thanks!

Which screenshots are you referring to. Also, isn't the sfcdetails.txt file that was extracted from the CBS.log file sufficient? Just clarifying... Thanks.

Your sfcdetails is clean, the only 2 corruptions are false ones due to KB3022345 and KB3068708. You can ignore or uninstall these 2 updates. They are for Windows 10 offer and not necessary for your PC's safety or workings.

When you state that "...sfcdetails is clean...", what does this entry mean (several of them):

Is this one of the Win 10 corruptions you refer to?

Yes, those 2 are false corruption warnings. The 2 files utc.app.json and telemetry are not actually corrupt.

I just want to say THANK YOU!

I was talked into buying a 1 year subscription to Microsoft's Assure Support Services for $149.00 because I was having the sfc /scannow error...Windows found some corrupted files and couldn't fix some of them ...SBC Log..etc..etc..

After 2 attempts the level 2 "support specialist" tells me that the SFC File corruption CBS corruption error (that we're talking about here) will fix itself once I upgrade to Windows 10 and most likely the reason that I'm getting these CBS Error logs is because I only have Service Pack 1 Installed & to wait a few days for SP2??:shock::shock::shock:

I told this gentleman that I had 2 other Windows 7 machines & they are fine..

Anyway I hung up and started researching online and came across this forum here!

After following the instructions and deleting the 2 update files ( KB3022345 & KB3068708 ) and re-running the sfc /scannow the message I get is that NO INTEGRITY VIOLATIONS WERE FOUND. my SFC scan was CLEAN!

I was working on this for a day & a half!

I am on the phone with MICROSOFT right now and they're processing my $149.00 REFUND as we speak!

Same Issue

Hello guys and gals, new member here. Sorry to bring this up again but I am having the same issue and I believe it all stemmed from a virus. So I will copy and paste my log and hopefully someone can chime in because I have no idea what any of this means. I almost took my computer to the repair shop but they would have taken all of my money. It seems like there is hope for this issue from reading the thread. Thanks!
