Pc restart when run games from my hdd

Hello , So let me tell you how the story begins , i used to always use my secondary hard drive for gaming/storage , and few days ago i have overclocked my cpu and right after that , every time i try to play a game from my secondary disk , pc crush and restart ,ive been told its due to overclock and a format would have fixed the issue but unfortunately it dint , Games i run from my sdd works fine , its just the secondary hhd . Any idea of how to solve this ?

No why would i ? I can play game on my ssd and do pretty much everything without problem , only problem is when i run games on my hdd

Hmm nvm seems to be the overclock , ive tried the same game on ssd and pc still crush , This is not a problem for every game though , i can play another game for hours with no issue , what do you think the issue might be ? Low vcore ? I can run prime95 just fine though

I am not an expert on OC, but it should depend on how you OCed. Did you stabilize PCIe frequency in BIOS to 100Mhz? Prime95 doesn't stress GPU I believe. You can try FurMark or IntelBurnTest. Also bench with 3DMark and Unigine Valley.

Hmm as soon as i click FurMark test to start pc crash ! I never tried to overclock my gpu though . What could cause the problem ?

I have also tried to run the game with default system and still crushing.

For diagnostic sake, load the defauls in BIOS.

Does FurMark crash with default clocks? Check your game again. (Was it working prior to OC?)

I have now tried furmark with lower resolution 1024x720 and it worked fine , but my games still crush , even with default system settings ( without overclock ) still crush , why ideas of why is this happening ?

It is possible FurMark not stressing the GPU at that resolution. Please load defaults in BIOS(or perform a CMOS reset) and try FurMark again with full resolution.
You should first make sure GPU is alright before moving to the game (which may have a total different issue).

Why would there be a gpu problem , i can play some games without problem ,

PC crashing as soon as FurMark starts = some problem with GPU/driver/OC or perhaps your PSU. Unfortunately you haven't supplied System Specs yet.

Playing some games without an issue (sorry to say) doesn't mean anything in this regard.

Cpu i7-4770k 4.4ghz

Ram : Team vulcan -2133 16gb 1333mhz

Motherboard : Gigabyte Z87X-OC

GPU : Amd radeon hd 7990 6gb

SSD : Samsung ssd 840 series

Power supply : Corsair tx850

Alright, now please load defaults in BIOS (I am asking you to do this because there may have been a glitch from the OC you made earlier, loading will make the motherboard forget those changes, you may have to reconfigure boot order, sata mode, etc.) Don't change any frequency/RAM timings other than Auto.

Then run FurMark in full resolution (1920x1080 for you?) and see if it will crash.

Hmm i have now tried at both default bios and 4.4 , and it worked at both with max res 1920x1080 !!!!

Game still crush regardless the hard disk !

And heres my oc settings:

CPU Frequency 4400
CPU Multiplier 44
CPU Ring Ratio 39 (3900)
CPU Ring Voltage 1.064v /(Auto)
System Agent Voltage 1.088v / (+ .250)

I guess you aren't adjusting the frequency but only the multi from your numbers. Looks like freq is 100, which is the default. You can get more accurate info at http://www.sevenforums.com/pc-custom-builds-overclocking/

If you are increasing the frequency than make sure you are fixing the PCIe frequency to 100Mhz and make sure RAMs can run at the adjusted frequency.

As far as I know, when you increase frequency and PCIe is at Auto, that will scale the PCIe freq to a higher clock and might cause problems (even fry a thing or two).

Are you keeping an eye on temps? Proper cooler for CPU?

By the way, you can add HyperPI to benchmarks.
